Northwoods Elite saw its run in the BuzzerBeater Madness Tournament come to an end with a 71-53 loss to Beijing in tournament action. Despite a competitive opening quarter, Northwoods struggled to find consistency offensively against a tough defensive effort from Beijing.
Pinho led Northwoods Elite with 12 points and five rebounds, while Osina added 11 points and eight boards. Hickey chipped in with eight points and six rebounds, but the team shot just 27.7% from the field and 28.0% from beyond the arc in the defeat.
Beijing controlled the game with efficient shooting, connecting on 55.6% of its free throws and dominating the glass with a 64-52 rebounding advantage. Cijie lead all scorers with a game-high 27 points.
The Elite return their focus to Cup play with a matchup against the GloryBoyz on Thursday night.
