Honestly, i want to start with managing a nation team. I like to develope players and help others to do it. I know New Zealand is a small country in BBs world. One day i wish to manage the spanish u21 but of course i have to start with others first. Im motivated to train this NZ nation which can be hard because of the lack of players but also im sure we will help each other. It will be my proyect but also its your country and i will need your help for that.

More reasons: I really like NZ, its the farthest point i can go from my home so for me its kind of cool. One dat i have to visit it and another reason is that all of you speak english which is a language i have some mistakes but i can talk with all of you in a way we understand each other.

Just check the salary.

So you're saying that the more a player is paid, the better they are? I'd disagree. Also, 14k 20 year old guards are rare to me... not sure what you're on about man.

I have never disrespected you and you were answering like i offended you by being here in the election for your nation.

I never disrespected you too, I was replying to your questions as best as I can. Now, if I did offend you, I'd like to apologise for that. However, if you did read my BB-Mail carefully, I did wish you a good luck in the election which is quite rare.

In part yes. 14k 22 years old is not good enough but this prospect is not for this team now so its past. I just wish you can develop that player because he can be the best in NZ U21. There arent a lot unfortunetly.

Maybe it was me i read offended but im not use to be offended in internet a lot. Maybe it was the way i started asking for that player. I know you are doing a great job but i know i can do a great one too so thats why im here. No disrespect from me to your job.

I apologise for whatever i caused to you and i want this to be fair. In case i win i cant have a bad relationship with you and if you win i wish you the best and i hope one day i can have a great potential player. I really like to have a NZ player in my team.

Good luck and best of wishes.

Just to back up the my argument about disagreeing that higher paying players are better...

We have two players here:
Player 1 - https://imgur.com/a/Sbd2oI0
Player 2 - https://imgur.com/a/0Ly2Bbn

Both players have the same inside skills, just for the sake of this comparison.

You can see that player 1 is obviously paid more. He has 20 passing which makes him the better passer out of the two. However, is he the better defender? Is he the better shooter? Is he the most versatile out the two? The answer to these questions is no.

Anyways, I'm glad that we were able to settle our little 'argument'. If you win then I'll support you as you'll be the one in charge but most importantly, its in the best interest of New Zealand.

I didnt mean in that way. I just think the 22 years old should have more salary in both ways. You train just one hability or more versatile. 22 years old should be over 100 pops and that salary i guess is under that. Yes i put that example to hurt you but my point there was that if you need help im interested in your player because its a lot of diference from 20-22 years old and 18 years old the way you train them. Thats all i was saying. Now looking into the past its normal you feel like i attacked you but its for the best of NZ.

I really respect that country and im looking forward to make it competitive.

Thanks for understanding and we can talk now peacefully.

Hi KHV,

Thanks for your interest in our small country, and all the best for the election.

I'd like this player to make the U21s in 2 years time... how would you suggest training him to ensure that he is useful at that level?

Cheers,
Hoddy

Hi!

All begins with the position you want to train that player. PG can be a good one in that player. I will start training Driving + Handling in 1vs1 PG. That will made to pop some Jump Shot. Depends the pops you have i will give some passing that same first year. Second year i will recommend to start with outside defense and also some jump shot.
Handling and driving will pop during those years so no need to improve better and just focus on improve pass, jump shot and
outside defense.

Its a great prospect. I hope you can train in a great way and make it!

Thanks for the question and im glad if i could help you

Thanks KHV,

Te-Ariki I'd be interested in seeing your thoughts on the same player if that is OK?

What I tell managers is that implementing a training plan for young players depends on the need of your team. This is because not only does it set you up for a solid player in the future, it also gives incentives to managers to keep training their players which would help the U21 team and maybe even the NT.

The potential and cap limit of a player should be considered as well.

However, if you're unsure of what you need out of the player that best fits your team, I generally go based on the minimum standards I set for each position based their starting skills.

In this case, this player would be best suited as a well-rounded guard.
1. I would start off with training JR (which should give some elastic effect with JS) to around 6. This is because fully neglecting JR and training all out JS will make it harder for JR pops in the future.
2. Then I'd focus on PAS and OD for half a season* each which should get to around 10 or 11.
3. Then I'd focus on one on one guards to get pops in DRI, HAN and the elastic effect on JS.

*The period of time provided could also depend on the level of your trainer and if you have any youth trainers which assists in extra pops for 18 and 19 year olds.

Considering you want him in the U21 team in 2 seasons, the above training plan should suffice but as a general rule of thumb, I like PGs having 12 OD and PAS, 10 DRI, HAN and JS and 7/8 JR.

Cheers for that. Some good food for thought from you both!
