Press Announcements

Singapore crush Taiwan 83-55, advanced to S34 Asian Cup Semifinal.

Fiery match was expected but only to witness it became one-sided victory.

Dharmagas Satyamoorthy and Kwok Leng Lee came off the bench and each scored 15 points, and Singapore used an amazing 4th quarter to close up by far the best outing against Taiwan, as both Nation put similar effort into the game.

Taiwan aggresively put a lockdown on Singapore superstar giant Mah Liang Jian, who only shot 2/5 from the field, but his teammates didn't waste the open looks. After Lim Liang Keng picked his 3rd fouls at the 2nd half and Mok Ze Chee was inefficient, his subs Satyamoorthy and Kwok start their work. Both were very aggresively attacking baskets and shown a lot of flashes that was very rare for Singapore talents. Kwok led scorers with eight points and Satyamoorthy has six points and three assists.

The 2nd half went wild, as manager bigben stick with Satyamoorthy on the floor and he didn't dissapointed. He led a quick 10 points run on the midst of 3rd quarter with a contested 3pointer, and two dimes to Hong Yao Kok for breakaway dunks. As Taiwan scored quick 4 points after timeout, Lim Liang Keng scored a quick layup and a jumper off his fella bigman Mah Liang Jian assits. Crowd went frenzy. The lead extended to 65-45 after three quarter.

Manager bigben cleared his benches to the court, which means to give most looks for tandem of duo KLL and Satyamoorthy. Singapore opened 4th quarter with 11-0 run, mostly by both of them, messing around at perimeter. Crowd went to chant MVP to Kwok, after a steal from Satyamoorthy led him to a fierce fastbreak dunk to capitalize 70-45 lead.

Taiwan really went armless, as they lost their main scorer Tao Wai Keung on first quarter, and Cheung Tat Chung later on the game. With most of their key players on the bench, little they can do to score under the menacing Singapore crowds.

Mah Liang Jian only scored 7 points, but did a good job grabbing 18 rebounds, all of them are defensive rebounds and couple of blocks. HYK scored 11 pts 8 rebs and 4 swats. And fan favourite Lim Liang Keng scored 9 points and three dimes, did a good job again to stay cool early on the game after series of hard fouls. He hit all his 3/3 FT.
