Chunks Survive Relegation Playoff

After a predictably challenging season, the New York Chunks managed to survive a relegation playoff as the underdog and will stick around USA Div. II.I for Season 11.

The Chunks managed to win seven games, almost all of them against teams with losing records playing with little enthusiasm. They won just enough games to avoid last place and get into the relegation playoff as a 7th place team, taking that series after losing the opener against In Yur Face, a team that seemed to give up after the first game. So deserved or not, the Chunks will take these wins and look to improve.

Since the Chunks’ first full season in Season 5, they have been accustomed to winning and winning convincingly. Reaching the playoffs every season since inception in Season 4, including five consecutive Finals appearances between Seasons 5 and 9, reaching Division II was bound to be a shock to the team with the transition from powerhouse to powder puff. But with a combination of realistic goals, roster upgrades, player development, and quite a bit of luck, the Chunks get another season in Division II and will look to avoid relegation after the next season, perhaps even improving as a team.
