Your assumptions are mostly correct, but don't always guarantee you the best pick.

For a 18 year old 4 ball B+ vs a 19 year old 5 ball A+, I'm taking the 19 year old based off that information. That said, it's not always right. Also, a 5 ball A+ 18yo is not necessarily better than the same rated 19 year old. There are 3 players in my current draft which hopefully explain both scenarios...

Player A: 5 ball A+ 43 tsp 18 year old
Player B: 5 ball A- 62 tsp 19 year old
Player C: 4 ball B+ 53 tsp 18 year old

Remove the knowledge of their skill points and player C is the bottom of the list. He is 10 tsp ahead of the other player his age and will be similarly ahead of the 19 year old with a season of top level training. The star and grade ratings are based on salary, which can make lesser players look ahead of better players depending on where their skills are allocated.

With having late picks (even factoring bots), I wouldn't invest a lot on the draft. If you've found a 5 star 5 potential player of any age, pick them as your first selection and hope for the best. Even with the first pick, you're relying on a lot of luck to justify getting value for the expense of knowing you have the best player available.

The 5-ball star rating and A+ grade rating differs for 18 and 19 year old draftees.
Iirc, a 19 year old draftee can have max prominent (9.5-10.5) on their main skill(s), whereas a 18 year old max skill level is capped at respectable (6.5-7.5).

5-ball potential means the same for both 18 and 19 year old draftees.

Hi,

my 2 cents on this topic: as you are in your 2nd season - thus, you will still have limited training facilities and possibilities - me I would recommend you to go with the 19y old draftees.

As written before, the 19y old can reach 10 skill points out from the beginning, whereas an 18y old can only have 7 skill points as max. This means automatically that the TSP of an 18y is of course lower than tha TSP of an 19y old draftee. If you would be a long(er) term manager, than you might have the training facilities that would make sense for you to pick the 18y old prospect and train him one season more with your advanced training facilities and possibilities.

However, it is highly uncertain that you in your current possition would have the possibility to use the extra training season to get than a better 19y old player than it would be, when you take an 19y old draftee from the very beginning.

I'm in my second season too. I have the first pick and am deciding between a 6'1 18A- or 6'5 19A+ who do you guys think I should pick? both are listed pg and 5/5 prospects. I have second best trainer and 1 GYM upgrade. What skills should I reveal for them with my last draft points? ty

OD for sure is imprtant, JR as well. As I wrote and explained before - I would take the 19y old prospect. Good luck to you :)
