Scotland U21 89 - 77 Columbia U21 (83589) WIN

A dead rubber match with neither team having any chance of making the knockout rounds. We had the enthusiasm advantage given that Colombia had CT vs Netherlands.

We won this comfortably despite one of our best players David Borthwick being injured early in the second half.

It was a real team effort where no one player clearly stood out and everyone done their part on offence and defence.

This could be viewed as a bittersweet victory. It is always great to get a victory like this to close out a respectable campaign at 4-4, but it does leave the thought of what if? What if we had stolen a victory in the close matches that where played vs Estonia and Azerbaijan? Chances are we would have finished 33rd and just missed out. Doesn't it make you proud to be Scottish?....it's shi**.... great being Scottish!

We will look to keep a winning mentality moving into the scrimmages to close out the season. We hope to see our young prospects continue to gain skill points! Keep training your young players and keep them in good game shape please.

Scrimmage Neutral Venue

Scotland U21 131 - 127 Bolivia U21 (83901) WIN

An entertaining match vs a Bolivia side who we suspect had a significant enthusiasm advantage over us which was a real leveller.

Both sides had chances to win and it looked like Bolivia were in the driving seat in the 4th quarter as they started hot and we struggled to get any stops. Our 3 point shooting and clutch free throws were key to a win.

Michael Obree is one for the future, coming off the bench with an impressive contribution as the team ended plus 11 in his 6 6 minutes played. It seems we have our very own basketball 'Flying Scotsman' in the making.

4 games won in a row now. Up next is Ecuador at a neutral venue where we hope to win again.

Scrimmage Neutral Venue

Ecuador U21 102 - 143 Scotland U21 (83965) WIN

We continued the feel good factor with a crushing victory over Ecuador who albeit do appear to be suffering from a lack of enthusiasm.

George Aitken looked a certainly to break records as he had 24 rebounds early in the 4th quarter but he became allergic to the ball and could not get a few more rebounds to break the top 10 single game records.

David Borthwick looks a certainty to break the single season assist record needing only 8 more assists in 3 scrimmages remaining. It does not look like they will be able to take the total assists records at u21 level but they could realistically get a top 3 spot with 18 more assists in 3 matches.

That takes the win streak up to 5. 3 more scrimmages left this season which we look forward too.

We finished up the season with 3 scrimmages which ended with 2 victories and 1 defeat.

Scotland U21 110 - 67 Norway U21 (84161) WIN

A good end to the season and we move into next seasons european championships with optimism.

Final record for the season was 9-5 with a 4-4 record in competitive play and 5-1 in scrimmages.
