Your nearer opponents in rank are division IV teams from bigger nations, while you are in division II. That would be incredibly unfair to IV leaguers. There are too few new managers in smaller nations who are in your position, so not enough for separate tier. And it's not like you are losing every bbm game now. So far you won as much as the average teams does

Also rank is just team results over ~2 seasons, it doesn't always reflect team strength and available funds to improve roster

So, the point of the game is to (forcefully) make me lose? I don't see the logic.

Exactly, I could (arguably) have better (or not) luck without ranks, which sounds kind of odd but workable.
5.000+ gap sounds way too much. I'm at that rank (as are the others) because we've probably joined at the same time or are in different "stages" of our career (which, one way or the other, should reflect how you play, I would say).
Regardless, I don't see the fairness in having to play either way much more experienced and/or much powerful teams ONLY.

As you correctly mention, maybe it's the way the ranks are found that might be the (partial and possibly unavoidable) issue.

It is what it, I guess. Nothing's perfect. Just mentioning as it seemed relevant.

Just for the sake of clarity because there seems to be a "gap", of sorts.

All I'm trying to say is that it doesn't feel very... "normal" to ONLY play teams over in the rank by 5.000+ spots, when by "chance" I could get some nearer to my own rank (if you notice last season, I had a few games against higher rank teams and others against lower rank teams (the normal "variance", I would think)... this season, it seems like I can ONLY get (much) higher ranked teams, which might be tied to my league status, I guess but still). I wish I had actually gone for promotion, instead of being "forced-promoted", of sorts (though I can't really complain just from getting there, also from an experience POV) lol

Unfortunatelly, I wouldn't say so. Having only one season behind me, my arena doesn't really allow to gain (as one could, given the proper resources) from it, I guess. I'll even have to further invest on a lost season (because of the salaries floor) or be forced to lose $, anyway. Of course, BBM c/would be some help, in relief... but, given the current "lottery luck", not even that is looking that good Thankfully, I've been able to hang on in the cup, which has been helpful to offset some of the expected losses. If/When I get demoted, I'll have to sell/adjust the roster again, which may or may not go so well, we'll see ^_^ Until the games are played and results known, everything is still up for grabs

Again, I was just mentioning the "odd variance" in regards to the ranks "match-making", nothing else.

Ah, that's a different "story"... and a scary one (the rank adjustment that is) lol
