We're ready to organize all Regular Season matches for HGL Season 6!

If you´re unsure about process, read: (331392.9), (324689.633) or ask questions on HGL Threads.


Info on organizing HGL Regular Season 6 matches:

Very important: If you are responsible for organizing a PU game, you need to schedule it for the time listed on this page (in front of your team name): (332268.18)!
(If your country has many time zones, contact me).

1. We'll use schedule for Season 6, that LennuK. (BC Eos) provided for us.
Schedule can be found here: (332268.6) and (332268.7).
Please note:
A) take a note of #-markings in schedule when organizing matches. When team that has # in front of it's name, it is responsible for sending Pickup match challenge, and their opponent is responsible for accepting it.
B) note, that above schedules do not include match time. Match times during Season 6 will be your local equivalent of 3.30PM EET(Eastern European Time), DST.

For each team an Official Local Time is provided, which they use when sending PU match invitations. Found (before team name), here: (332268.18).
Use only this time given to your team specifically, and nothing else, when organizing (also when accepting!) Pickup matches!

2. Before team sends or accepts match challenge, it is important to check out specifics of a match.
That means 3 things:
A) is day correct in a sent challenge? (check your own HGL schedule to confirm! Here: (332268.6) and (332268.7)
B) is time correct? (check your own team specific Official Local Time for HGL matches, link next one below).
Remember: if you are team sending challenge, you need to use designated time given to your team as a match time, found in this table: (332268.18)
If you are team that accepts challenge, match should take place at time that your team should play it's matches, your local time)
C) is court balance neutral (for Regular Season match)? If not, do not accept the match invitation. Matches played with wrong court balance do not count!
In such case, contact manager who has sent wrong challenge, and/or write a reminder on an Official HGL Thread, here: (332267.1), and/or send me a BBMail.

3. Send Pickup match invites to all teams, where in matchup you see # before your team name.
Schedule, here: (332268.6) and (332268.7)
To access each teams page easily, check this post: (332268.18)
Again, please be very careful with all the specifics (day, time, neutral court balance) when you send and accept invitations.

4. Accept all correct invites sent to you.
Check out:
A) should I be receiving this match invitation from this team? (HGL schedule provides answer). If not, don't accept it and contact manager by BBMail, send post to official HGL thread or BBMail to me.
B) If challenge comes from team that is supposed to send you a challenge, are all match specifics (day, time, neutral court balance) correct?

5. Check (and double check!) your BB schedule after whole process is completed.
Note:
A) not all managers accept invites quickly
B) you should have 17 regular season matches arranged for HGL Season 6
C) if you play also other Pickup matches than those for HGL, make sure you won't count them as being one of the 17
D) confirm that match dates and times show up correctly in your team schedule.
There has been problems with arranging PU matches, especially if they overlap some other match.
So we ask you to not play other than HGL Pickup matches so that they start just before HGL match, or so that they overlap it.

6. If all B), C) and D) from previous ('5.') are correct, let us know that all your matches are properly organized. I'll keep an updateable list of confirmed teams.

We'd like to ask you to follow certain routines/rules when sending box score links and scores to this Thread so that we could make process a bit more manageable to a league Commissioner and to ensure smooth and fair functioning of HGL.

So in addition to what has been mentioned before, there are some things to note and remember when sending box score links, and also few reminders/tips on how we can make operation of HGL as smooth as possible:

1. For Season 6 it is not a requirement for you to send a separate box score posts for each match to a HGL Scores Thread, but all managers are required to add HGL match links and match scores to their own box score posts. When doing that, keep these requirements in mind:
A) all Regular Season match links need to be sent prior to Regular Season beginning
B) managers are required to add scores of matches to box score post after they have been played throughout the whole Season
C) especially during Playoffs it is necessary to send box score links to matches within certain time frame (timeframe during Playoffs likely at the very least on Friday) so that I can ensure before the match that match specifics (teams, day, time) are correct.

2. Remember, that PU games are not visible to other users than for the teams involved in the match, so either you or your opponent must send the link to the box score, as nobody else can do it. If you notice it being sent to a wrong thread (other than this), please do send it again in this correct (HGL Scores) Thread.

3. In some (unlikely) cases it might be necessary for a league Commissioner to send you a reminder by BBMail or on official league thread 'Home-Grown League (HGL) Season 6 Official Thread', if no box score link to match has been sent to this Thread.

4. Please also bear in mind, that it is not a duty/obligation of a HGL Commissioner to send such reminder posts/BBMails, but managers involved in a match are responsible for sending box score links within the required time frame.

5. Based on discretion, during Playoffs HGL Commissioner can also accept box score links sent to the aforementioned, Official HGL main Thread, but as a basic rule All box score links should be sent on this Scores Thread only, and to be more precisely to your team's own box score post of current HGL Season.
In other words, if you are in a real hurry when organizing urgent match for Playoffs, you are allowed to send box score link of match to Scores Thread as a separate post, but be aware that it doesn't release you from the obligation to add it to your own Season box score post (as soon as you can, and before match starts).

6. It's the aim of the league Commissioner to update the league table within a decent timeframe of played matches to keep it relatively current.
Given that all updates to league table are done manually, please be prepared to it that updates practically won't ever happen as quickly as in a "regular Buzzerbeater league".
7. As an important reminder: all us managers organize all Regular Season matches during one time window before the regular season starts, so when every manager does this properly, all the Regular Season matches will be played in time (I´ll check each match specifics before season starts). Please be careful with match court balance (neutral during Regular Season!) as I can't check that before match!

8. Lke mentioned before, Playoffs is the riskiest time of the year for HGL, so we´d like to ask you to set up some reminders (on phone, computer, calendar, etc.) so that you remember to arrange Playoff match for your team each and every week (unless you lose before semifinals, which is the last match of the season for your team).

San Fernando VR ($111069 and 25,25years on Season 5) and M.L.S. REICH ($157658 and 26,875 on S5) will replace Hårdboll and Club Trouville for HGL Season 6..

Please note that when HGL Season 6 starts, Daylight Savings Time (DST a.k.a. Summer Time) is observed in Europe, so it affects match times.

So for this Season 6 Official designated match time is designated time for each team, which is your local equivalent of 15.30, a.k.a. 3.30PM Eastern European Time (EET) Daylight Savings Time (DST).

In other words, you will play all HGL matches on Season 6 at your designated local time, that you can see on the above list before your team name. You will also use this time as a match time when you're responsible of sending Pickup match challenge. When accepting PU challenges from other teams, you need to make sure it's played at the same correct time (your local time) before you accept it.

In the case you're in any doubt whatsoever about the official match time, typically most surefire way to ensure your match time is correct, is to check out your BB schedule page, and see what time you are playing HGL Regular Season match against my team (Wagner College).
This will be your match time on that given Season, because I send all RS Pickup match challenges to all teams first, and from that time (that they see on their BB schedule) managers can get the final assurance what's the correct match time.

Note, that box score links of matches will be copied to official schedule posts (here (332268.6), here (332268.7), and for Playoffs here (332268.9)) from each manager's own box score posts, and only those matches on official posts are accepted as official HGL results.
(Match must start at the correct time, match number must be the same as in official schedule's copied links - in other words, managers can't change correct match links on their season box score post without approval or request by HGL Commissioner).

Please note, in the order of significance:
A) If teams are tied in points, team with less forfeits will be higher ranked, and
B) Teams tied for regular season points are officially ranked based not on scoring differential, but rather based on the result of their current season regular season match (winner of that match will be a higher ranked team).
League table will/might not reflect this correctly before the last regular season match (Round 17) scores have been revealed, after which Official Regular Season Rankings (ORSR) for Season 6 of HGL are being released, and playoff matches for that season will be organized based on aforementioned ORSR.
"In the order of significance" (above) means, that comparison is made in this order, if teams are tied in points.

In the case of a 3-way, 4-way or 5-way tie in points, HGL tiebreaker rules apply as follows: (328546.121). (As for how such decision was reached, see (328546.118) and (328546.120)).


League table will be orrected after Round 17 of RS to reflect Official Regular Season Rankings (ORSR) which are used in Playoffs match organizing process.

ORSR-table will also be made available in Official HGL Season 6 Playoff post, here: (332268.9).

Playoff matchups for match organizing process are/will be found from Official Playoff post (link above) when available.



PS. As you can see, BB text editor is useless for tables, and doesn't accept formatting that text/table had (ignores word or excel formatting). If you have any tips on how to utilize BB text editor better than what you see here, I'd appreciate if you'd contact me and share your tips so we could make things better (one small step at a time).

Info about Regular Season (RS) and Playoffs (PO) match days for HGL Season 6:

Teams face once during RS on neutral court.
Match days will be Mondays and Fridays during Regular Season (RS) and Sundays during Playoffs (PO). Exception: 2 RS matches are played also on Sundays.

In PO home court advantage always goes to better team, which is determined by Official Regular Season Rankings (ORSR).

PO is a single-elimination tournament, except Semifinals, from which losers proceed to Bronze match.

HGL Season 6 Playoff-post:

Playoff-post will be updated when teams entering Season 6 HGL Playoffs have been confirmed.

Please remember to organize new Playoff matches every single week, if you keep on winning (or lose in semifinals) and are still participating on this Season's Playoffs!

Please note this:
Official match time during Season 6 Playoffs will be your local equivalent of 15.30 a.k.a. 3.30PM EET DST (Eastern European Time, Daylight Savings Time a.k.a. Summer Time).
(So for instance in Poland and France, which are 1 hour behind of EET, Playoffs match time on Season 6 will be 02.30PM their local time).
This time should be the same that you see on your BB schedule page on this Season; for example in my teams' schedule HGL matches seem to take place at 15.30, a.k.a. 03.30PM (don't accept match if it doesn't seem to take place at the time you are supposed to play all your HGL matches).

Daylight Savings Time, DST, will be changed exactly at the same day as the HGL final and bronze match is being played (Oct 25th). Due to that it might then appear at different time in your team calendar on and after Oct 25th, but we should be able to retain to organizing Season 6 Playoff matches at the same time for the whole duration of Season 6 Playoffs.

Also remember, Playoff matches are played on Sundays only!

When organizing matches for Playoffs, please remember to be especially accurate with correct match court balance (always home/away for Playoffs matches!) as I can not verify that before match has started; remember that scores on wrong court balance will not be accepted!

NOTE: This ORSR-table will be used throughout the Playoffs to determine which team will meet which, and it will be published after RS Round 17. OPP Eff.FG% = same explanation as above; team’s opponents’ effective field goal shooting percentage; a.k.a. defensive eFG%

Block rate = how large percentage of opponents’ two point attempts team has been able to block

*Steal rate = how often (percentage of opponents’ offences) team is able to steal the ball when opponent has the ball possession.
*Turnover rate = how large percentage of teams’ ball possessions end up in a turnover.
*Possessions = teams’ possessions per game.
*OPP. Possess. = teams’ opponents’ possessions/game.
