Hello

The dominance of the 3-2 zone isn't because the scheme itself is overpowered; rather, it's because most other defensive schemes are inconsistent or unreliable.

Currently, only man-to-man and the 3-2 zone function effectively—with the 3-2 successfully shutting down both the perimeter and the interior. Its not unbeatable people do lose with it.

If players believe other defenses are viable, I'd like to see examples. When developers continually nerf player capabilities, it becomes nearly impossible to run alternative defenses successfully. For instance, when a manager in Germany successfully implemented a box-and-one defense, the game mechanics were scaled back soon after. Let's be honest about the state of defensive variety.

I got my 4 outside players, soon I will buy the big ones (C/PF-s)

I will be forced to buy blockers, because nothing else works.

Its impossible for a top inside player with 19-20 IS to play against a guy with 23/24 ID and SB.

3-2 is destroying every offence, and there is no logic, something must be done.

I would make it weaker against inside tactics, so it have some sense, and people can play again with normal big guys, not just blockers.

This is where we hold them!

24 hours after the announcement, I’m back on the forum looking for comments from managers who supported leaving the 3-2 defense as it is.

I still only see comments saying that the nerf should indeed be implemented. These comments are coming from managers who actually use the 3-2 defense themselves.

The salary changes are being reverted because they were not announced in advance. The 3-2 defense nerf however, was announced at the beginning of the season and everyone has had the entire season to prepare for it.

So why is this change being reversed?

Its just an example, a player with 22ID and 25SB destroy every Center in the game.

So you trying to say its okay like this?
All top users and national teams use 3-2 zone for no reason, guess it is like that then.

Fact: 3-2 zone cant work against LI/LP, in any logical world, so it should be like that on BB too.

Here, 3-2 zone destroy every tactic, and it should be fixed, no room for tactical decissions, just put the 3-2 zone and thats it.

This is where we hold them!

Hello,

Understandable. I agree with your assessment, but the core issue isn't the 3-2 defense itself—it's the massive, unmanaged variation in allowed skills. No skill should ever go past 20. Even if players hit 20 in certain attributes, tactics should come with built-in penalties and bonuses, factoring in a double or triple dice roll RNG.

Take tactic requirements, for example. If a specific tactic requires a mandatory minimum skill level to play effectively, players will never truly know—because nobody knows the hidden game code. What we *do* know is that every build stems from a foundational base of training and specialized Li-training. Because the game has been running a certain way for over a decade, those requirements eventually became common knowledge, which is why 3-2 works the way it does.

The developers should have adjusted every single tactic. For instance, there *were* adjustments made to stop Low Post (LI), giving players a clear idea of what skills were needed to build for it. Right now, however, nobody can tell you what skills are actually required to successfully run a full-court press, other than stocking up on 17 players to throw mass bodies at every minute of the match and just letting the coach figure it out. You're essentially forced to press your luck—and that's a huge problem.

Let’s be honest: elite jump-shooting guards are not cheap. Now, you expect that same expensive offensive player to also play lockdown inside and outside defense? Imagine that cost, combined with the salary floor, trainer costs, and weekly player upkeep. When the price to afford them becomes astronomical due to tax penalties, why on earth would any manager create that type of player?

On top of all that, you're just guessing the entire way regarding the required defensive skills. It’s simply too much guesswork and way too much risk involved. Factor in stamina issues once players hit 27 for heavy minutes, short roster penalties, and affordability penalties, and you have to ask: how is a manager supposed to afford expensive "box inside" players or properly run a 2-3 zone?

So, rather than blindly guessing, managers default right back to man-to-man or the 3-2 defense. Why? Because it's cheaper, and it's simply more effective. This core issue—fixing and balancing the various tactics—is currently buried deep in the game forums. I sincerely hope the new owner reads this and sees the debate we are having, because these are critical points.

By the way, I'm not saying the admins haven't done good things; this is just pointing out the persistent issues that need to be addressed.

He's worth it. I trained him so hard!

He can be worth it, but I would not buy a new player for the next 3 seasons if there was not the announcement for the max cap of 15 mil

First of all, I've never been the type of player to collect money for tens of seasons. I like trying to be the best I can each season because I don't find being bad or average for 10 seasons to be fun. Winning is fun, even if that just means winning III or II divisions every now and then. Every time I get to the top division I realize that I'm nowhere near to being able to compete, cause people can just absorb massive losses for a season or two, since they have 10-20 mil to spend. Many pro sports leagues have implemented rules for that reason to prevent money=winning.

B3 is just a competition of who can absorb more losses for longer. Salary cap is needed. Even top division feels like that. I have negative income but I'm nowhere close to competing for a single win in playoffs, even making playoffs is a struggle.

Also never been a fan of meta tactics and I've tried winning in other ways if possible, although sometimes there's just no way around it.

IMO, salary changes made this season should stay, along with the planned 3-2 zone nerf. No single tactic should work against every other tactic. We shouldn't have to wait for years for these changes just because some players have planned their game around this meta. There have always been changes and there always will be, that is the way of life. Some of us win, some of us lose from these changes. If you lose, you adapt and revise your plans.

Hoarding tax I agree would be harsh if dropped from 25 mil to 15 in one season, but gradually lowering it over 4-5 seasons would be the way. Do people IRL just let the money on their bank account sit and expect it to be worth the same in 10-20 years? No, because inflation exists, things change etc.

Just my 2 cents on some of this. Also I'm gonna go look up what this "elastic effect" is cause I can't remember reading about it. :D
