We have three options:

1. accept this match today as a proper match (unless he will not participate and add box score post, in which case he would be disqualified and also first match would be ruled as a forfeit loss for him by a later decision) and wait for few days more whether or not he will be still willing to participate, because now almost everything has been handed for him ready (like you could see from my previous message), and if he's not willing to create a box score post for his team (or even share with us what exactly is the problem to begin with with not knowing how to create it), then I guess it's necessary for me to lift my hands up and judge that situation as lost case and spilled milk so to speak.

2. Disqualify him from HGL-PL Season 5

3. Hand him forfeit losses as long as box score post isn't created. However, the effect would be truly detrimental to his chances of good HGL-PL league position, so it could have the same effect as 2.

I would ask if you can give him just a little more time, Wagner. If he can't get back to you and/or let us know how we can help soon, then you will have to make a decision.

I actually edited my previous post a bit, which (edited version) I added to beginning this reply.

My only worry even isn't only this, that should he be able to rise from the brink of disqualification/forfeits, to participate to HGL-PL. The worry is also that if we have managers who rather throw in the towel than ask for advice actively, also those managers who take care of their duties in time are negatively affected. There needs to be some kind of change in attitude/thinking within the next week or so, should he eventually be participating to HGL, as HGL match organizing process is starting soon, and as I said, we've got lot of problems on our hands if managers enter who wouldn't be willing to ask for help.

Like I said, I have had hands full of work with this HGL-PL as a whole, so much so that all other HGL tasks have once again been buried into "to do-pile". Do you guys remember what it was like when we all started out on Season 1? Well, we had lot more teams back then to whom it was totally new (16, to be precise), but it reminded me of that, because now new managers enter who naturally haven't yet got used to the practices&rules, and naturally have questions on how to proceed on certain situations (as while rules/procedures/practices-posts are in the longer side, they still don't cover each and every aspect/nuance that there is in HGL - but also because there's lots of text, maybe new managers are not able to remember everything by reading them through once).

While I think I've made it somewhat clear (?) to HGL-PL participants that HGL-PL uses basically HGL's rules and practices if/in those situations where they aren't overruled by statements/rules in those (currently) 4 HGL-PL posts, and it is basically a HGL rule that you have to have box score post created.
I have also in my communication warned them to get things done in time or they risk disqualification and/or forfeit losses.

However, one could also argue that "these HGL rules wouldn't hold in front of a court", meaning that one could find some hole/technicality/contradicting problem from them.
One of the options, as mentioned, is to wait bit further (few more days, perhaps? At the very latest before next HGL-PL match on Friday) if he's ready to join HGL-PL.

But like I said, like IRL, managers not complying with rules/practices often cause new penalties to be applied, and as we as a community in general don't enjoy penalties all that much, let's not in general/as a part of community act so that things are needed to be solved by adding new penalties.

As also said, even if TD would be let off the hook here (if he gets post done and edited soon), it might be necessary to add forfeit penalty of not creating a box score post in future.

Well, he is in a finals game tomorrow night which means he is likely to login tomorrow at some point. There is still hope.

I fully appreciate the workload you undertake for the HGL, Wagner.

I hope he does. And if/while he does, he also needs to reply. Maybe, just maybe, if you also send him a message (I guess you already did though, so of course there's no need to fill his BBMail inbox more than necessary), he would get better idea of the urgency.

Thanks, MrJ. I can assure you, that what is seen from the surface, isn't the whole story, what becomes to workload. I mean technically it seems like a simple little league, but one would never guess the amount of "base work" which still goes into it, even though it is kind of established and some things can be copy-pasted to new Threads.
But again, same applies here; structure of HGL Threads has been built with usability in mind (believe or not - it's not necessarily very easy to make very user friendly UI in these 90's forums..), so they contain lots of links, and updating them is a nightmare of some kind - which repeats itself in every 3 months, very unfortunately.

Which brings me to one questions, which comes to the surface one Season after another; should HGL stay on the same thread to possibly save some trouble (during this off-season/transitioning process)?
It would also have some clear negative side effects though.

I would probably support moving to a one-thread model, just to have everything in one place. If it would make your job any easier – even better! As for finding my team's score sheet, it is not so easy now, and I don't think it could get more difficult

Thanks all for the great work managing HGL!

One thread has advantages, true. Two threads or more should be more ordered, but, for example, I have posted probably in both threads the same at some moment ?

Whatever the choice, I'm behind it.

This was not my point actually.

The point was staying in the same forum thread from one season to another - not to stop publishing the second HGL (Scores) thread. So the question was, what do you guys think of staying in the same threads for xx amount of Seasons (as long as close to 1000 messages limit is reached)? Like I've mentioned, there are downsides to that too.

If I would stop publishing Scores Thread altogether, then you would have even harder time finding your box score post, should everything be in one forum thread.

I'm not quite sure how is it possible that "it couldn't get any more difficult" to enter your box score post?
You click to either one of HGL Threads, scroll down to box score post, and click the link after your team name at "Team abbreviations and links to team's own box score post for Season 5:".
I'm just wondering how much easier could that get... Organizing this through forums, I don't think it could become any easier.
Like you can all see, there are plenty of other essential information in first 15-20 posts on either HGL Threads, and these won't be moved just for convenience of possibly avoiding one click per (some) manager(s), in order to access your box score post... even if everything would be moved (to "prioritize" box score posts, they still wouldn't fit into first page, as there are 18 of us).

Although, I don't know if you have all managed to check the Homegrown Central post that I created, but it has links to all of our HGL seasons, stats, records and much, much more. It is already sticky-ed to make sure it is permanent. Here is the link: (332147.1)

With that said, we could still sticky a HGL Official Thread and the HGL Scores thread and let them run until 1000 posts require new ones to be made.

I had a glance, but need to check everything out 100% thoroughly.

Stickying them would be possible, yes, but again the only dilemma is whether or not cons outweight the pros, in terms of staying on same threads until they fill.. that's the point I'm trying to get into.
