@Wagner...

First and foremost, I will reiterate what I have said often: YOU ARE DOING AN INCREDIBLE JOB AS COMMISSIONER!

But...

...I really think we need to work out the best format for the HGL in terms of what information is where. Like others, I have been here since Season 1...and still find it hard to know which thread to go to at times depending on what information I am seeking. We have ladders, stats, scores, commissioner requests, random bbmails and all sorts of items across both threads in a confusing and somewhat chaotic scene imo. Let me be clear, this is absolutely no way your fault, Wagner, it is just how things have evolved in the HGL. There is a lot of information. I didn't even know where to post this message...in the Scores or Official thread...or both!?

With that said, consider the confusion of which thread is to be used and when for new and existing participants. A new team, having not understood how everything works, could possibly become overwhelmed by the sheer volume of threads and messages and requests and expectations and rules and messages etc. So, how do we simplify this?

Somehow, we need to simplify all this information into a more concise and succinct system so that anybody arriving in the HGL knows where to go and why, what to do and when.
[...]

Not enough time to reply to your message properly now, but this kind of structure has already been implemented on Season 2, like you can see from this post and it's link: (331392.7). This is just another layer of work, and as goes with ALL the other links (tons of them!) in all HGL posts, links do not update themselves. I haven't had perhaps a single positive feedback about this post though (at least outside of top2-3 most conversationally active managers), so I have no idea if anyone outside of active managers-envelope feels that beneficial (actives don't mainly even need them as threads will become familiar to them if they browse 15-20 first messages on each thread).
.
Also, one thing is, that HGL always evolves to some extent, so posts won't be in exact same locations on each consequent season.
But mostly they stay on same locations, like you've seen.

Main post is mainly for messages, and scores thread, like name implies, for box score posts and stats. It is already mentioned on the Scores-thread, that discussion is mainly meant to take place on main thread. The thing is though, that people still do what they do - perhaps they don't read or remember that, or then want to do things their way regardless of instructions. Who knows?

Main thread is always main thread, as name implies (there is no "scores" addition in name) and if somewhere, most important posts are posted at least there.

Discussion just "happens" to also take place there, and I have not wanted to restrict that too much, because do we already have too busy conversational scene here in HGL, especially outside couple of active managers? Not really, no...

You are right about people getting lazy - I should probably let people take more responsibility on reading those forum posts in order to make things more "sustainable" in a long run, in terms of amount of work.
But I've just noticed, that often it leads to things not getting done. Again, that can be due to multiple reasons.

But like you mentioned, this post/preseason is the worst time of the season for long conversations.
And my main point indeed was to instead introduce pros/cons-discussion about staying on same threads Season after season until they fill.
But it's likely too short of a notice to have such conversation anyway, as that likely doesn't take place outside of top3-5 most active managers-envelope anyway on this short notice.. Meaning that at least one more transitioning process is needed (until setting up for two threads for the duration of 2-4 Seasons depending how quickly they fill up - again, this has not been decided to be the method).

Schedules and my box score post have now been published on HGL Scores Season 6 Official Thread.

Please create an own box score post for your team, by responding to this post: (332268.22).

Like normally, you edit it as needed, and add match links to it when matches have been created by you and your opponents.
Again, if you have # in front of your team name in schedule posts (17 Rounds of matches), it's your responsibility to send the correct Pickup match challenge.

As usual, some essential instructional posts and posts including team links and official match times can be found already (links below), even though Season 6 Threads are still under construction:

What everyone who participates to Season 6 of HGL needs to do now-post: (332268.19).

Announcement 29.7.2026: We're ready to organize all Regular Season matches for HGL Season 6-post: (332268.2).

Links to participating teams-pages for easy match challenging, and official HGL match times for each team: (332268.18).

I have now sent a match offer/request to all of you, and this is the correct match time for HGL Season 6.
Send and accept Pickup matches only at this same time you see our match (vs. Wagner College) match taking place.

Everybody playing on HGL Season 6, please proceed to match organizing process immediately, as we have only 12 days until Season 6 starts.

Thanks Paul George and good luck for next Season as well, defending your strong success (streak) in HGL!

As far as next published stats (by me) are concerned, they will be HGL Salary benefit stats from Season 5.

Those HGL Team Stats (yes, these 45 categories worth of stats) have been buried under RL tasks, and also below some of the HGL tasks so far.
I'll see what I can do about those (as far as Season 5 is concerned) - I still hope I can get those published - but now this Salary Benefit calculation has to be done extremely quick before BB season 73 salary values are making it even more dreadful process. Also establishing Season 6 Threads properly goes beyond Season 5 team stats on my priority list next... And then, of course, this match inspection and correction process, which follows each and every Season.

If after that I haven't had enough of BB and HGL for couple of days, maybe then it could be possible time to start working on those S5 Team Stats.
Everyone, let's just make this as smooth HGL pre-season as ever possible so there's more energy and time left for Team Stats... ;)

During my Salary benefit post creation process I noticed again unreported transfers by few teams:
BC Rajaleidjad (2 transfers)
Vilniaus „Vilkai“ (1 transfer).

If you have reported about these to me and I would've missed that, I'm sorry about that (please send me message if I have missed it).

Other than these unreported transfers, couple of others were spotted too when making a note of reported transfer.

But I remind everyone playing in HGL; please report all transfers of your team, regardless of salary, potential, age, etc., be it
- a purchase
- a sold player, or
- a fired player.

I kind of "knew" you were referring to those team stats.. :)
I made a mistake of not following up the routine throughout the Season, and now they are required to be built from the ground up (like they would've been also in the case I would've done them immediately, but workload of course feels to stay more manageable if one follows that routine). It's also a task that can't be done in one sitting (or even two sittings), as you have to be constantly vigilant while doing it - like we saw on Season 4, one small stupid mistake from me (forgetting to add ED Round 17 team stats, caused their whole season numbers not be 100% comparable, and will cause me eventually likely a bit more than hour worth of work to update the Season 4 team stats post completely).

In this case though, with a real rough estimate, I probably might be looking for somewhere around 6 to 9 hours of effective work time to get S5 team stats done and published (I've never done it in a one go, and pace of work might slow if long stint is done at once), so it's not the lightest of tasks, is it..

...CONGRATULATIONS!!! HISTORY HAS BEEN MADE?!

Unless I am mistaken, two teams just made HG History by making it to their respective country's Division 1s this new season!

Congratulations to GM-LennuK (Manager of BC Eos) and Moneta (manager of Lielupes Melnas Sirdis). I could have missed someone doing it somewhere (but, I don't think so). If I am correct, these are the first two Home Grown teams to achieve this amazing achievement.

Although both teams were defeated in their respective finals, they did enough to promote and should be incredibly proud of themselves.

It is surely all of our dreams to one day achieve this...and, hopefully win a Div I!

Well done to both of you!

EDIT: I will try and remember to add your achievements to the RECORDS page at some stage.

Yes, congratulations to both from my behalf as well!

I guess you meant HGL history though (or actually HG history)?

As far as former HGL teams go, I can't recall if Svätý Jur Snakers or Santa Eufemia Ducks for instance were playing in their highest level divisions when being 100% HG team (if that's what you meant)?

Also, if you meant HG history and not HGL history, then I have at least one team in mind which to my understanding has been capable of reaching highest division in one's country as 100% HG team... :)

Congratulations to them, but they are not the first ones to make it. Svaty Jur Snakers did it as well as my team. I was in first division couple of seasons ago, as well as couple of times before that. This year I missed promotion by losing 1:2 in finals, and if I had one more win in regular season I would have promoted anyway.

BBs made my team unplanned 30k a week more expensive this season so I need to promote at the end of this year or sell one of my bigs, which I wouldn't like at all.
