What do you mean many more shotblocking players? The transfer list is full of them compared to 10 seasons ago, they exploded in number. Also in the current GE, SB'ers are way too effective for their salary compared to their IS centers counterparts, which is quite unfair.

Doesn't make sense that a 60k SB can be more than enough to defensively take care of a 150k+ traditional center for example, so these are quite welcome changes

If nerfing some skills was necessary they should of looked at OD first.

766 players ID 15+
171 players SB 15+ on the Transfer List

Is the loophole in the room with us right now?

Very weak argument.

1. What is the most popular defense at this moment?

2. What are the type of centers mostly used in top leagues?

3. What are the type of centers mostly used in national teams?

4. What are the type of centers mostly used in u21 national teams that qualified for the second phase?

5. What are the type of centers mostly used in the B3 / BBM 1,2,3,4,5?

5. Last but not least, what are the types of bigs all the previous winners of B3 have used on their quest to the B3, and what is the type of centers employed by the very recently crowned B3 Winner, dequestion?

Besides the fact that most SB'rs won't be on sale, due of their usefulness to teams, unlike traditional bigs, who being more well known and popular (lots of teams still play the traditional way, with high IS Centers), are also more expensive and less useful in the current GE.

I'll repeat the question, do you think it makes sense that 50k SB bigs can completely shutdown 150k bigs and display the same level of performance according to their builds? Why do you think that across all top leagues and top competitions that 3-2 is almost exlusively employed?

So you are telling me that IS is crap and OD is king? Or would that mean that passing is useless?

Hello

"I have to disagree.

Shot blocking is actually very expensive in terms of salary cap consumption in potential , and unlike Inside Shot (IS), it requires one-position training to build efficiently.

Furthermore, finding raw prospects who already have decent starting shot blocking to build upon is just as difficult as any other position—there's no shortcut there. Mono-positional training has been a part of this game for a very long time, which is precisely why many managers choose to just stack Outside Defense (OD) instead, especially since guards don't even have access to shot blocking on the perimeter and have penalties

. The Most Popular Defense

The 3-2 zone remains the undisputed king of defenses at the highest levels of competitive play. It dominates because of how the Game Engine (GE) evaluates perimeter coverage, outside shooting suppression, and the synergy it creates when paired with specific frontcourt archetypes. You dont sb to_peform 3-2 you need outside defense .

2 & 3. Centers in Top Leagues and National Teams

Top Leagues: High-tier managers heavily lean toward multi-skilled, mobile bigs who feature strong secondary defenses and respectable handling/passing, rather than one-dimensional specialists.

National Teams: At the NT level, where margins for error are razor-thin, coaches universally prioritize tactical flexibility. Bigs must possess defensive versatility to counter modern motion and perimeter-heavy offenses.

4 & 5. U21 Second-Phase & B3 / BBM Divisions (1 through 5)
Across advanced U21 competition and the grueling rounds of the B3 (BuzzerBeater Masters) and its preliminary stages, rosters homogenize quickly. You stop seeing pure, lumbering traditional anchors because the court to afford meta punishes lack of defensive distribution. Competitors lean heavily into optimized, cost-effective builds that maximize defensive rating returns per dollar spent.

6. B3 Winners and the Blueprint
Past B3 champions and top-tier tournament contenders have consistently shifted away from bloated, high-salary traditional inside scorers, favoring structurally efficient bigs who excel at multi-faceted defensive contributions. Optimization of salary caps and skill points dictates that every single drop of salary must pull its weight against elite tactics. You should know this, it has nothing do with shot block manipulation, its about technique,

Conclusion:

A 50k salary-optimized big can shut down a 150k traditional giant because the BuzzerBeater game engine rewards algorithmic checkpoint math over sticker price. When top leagues, national teams, and B3 champions—including recent meta-shapers—rely exclusively on the 3-2 zone and cost-efficient builds, it proves that inflated Inside Scoring is a salary trap. Winning the GE isn't about buying the most expensive player; it's about paying strictly for the defensive stat checks that actually stop possessions. Your neglecting. The synergy of the defense.

All defenses can work, Sb. Is not making 2-3 zone work, nor 1-3-1. SO .. I’d like you to express why it doesn’t work there if sb was overpowering on teams . I await your respected rebuttal.

Hello

I’m respectful. Disagree.

I think this is a judgement of your feeling rather than game facts . The 2 most powerful defense’s in the game is Outside/Inside defense . Inside defense is actually hard coded in-the GE. To no matter the player skill on the offense, the game will not give you an inside shot.

If your telling us if S-B is over powered, then why is 2-3 zone not working or 1-3-1. 3-2 is a zone it not situational as the other two basically a mandatory meta.. Why is that, please express and those two defensive tactics are based on shotblocking. .

Shotblocking does not apply to guard’s on the perimeters only in the zone. Now 2-3 there should be more steals and blocks than 3-2 zone. But not the case. 1-3-1 should have more than both, again not the case.. I would like for foyou to address this factually and honestly not emotionally. Don’t fall back in to / This guy doesnt know.

I do know..
