Hello all and welcome to the forum for the National Tournament of Season 34. Last season we saw two long-serving managers battle it out seeing Los Mikitos land his first major crown.

ROUND ONE DRAW
The national tournament returns with an absolute belter of a draw, treating us to two EBBL match ups (is this the first time it's ever happened?). The two games will see Durham Wasps welcome Stinkilemons to the house of the Wasps Nest whilst Gauson packs their bags for a trip to face M Dogs. Other than that, there is not much to shout about for the first round games understandably due to the number of bots remaining. However, a couple of ties that do catch the eye is a division II match up between Baro Kiaules and OLYMPIACOS 1925 as well as division II side, Keepmugs, travel to the 107th seeded, Doggs Ballers.

Good luck to all teams.

Nothing to be proud of tonight. More effort and HCA. What effect this will have on my season is hard to guess but I felt it was necessary under the circumstances. I face a difficult fight to stay up this season and I felt I needed to stay in the Cup to help with enth down the road.

There was also an element of panic. I had two new players in tonight and wasn't really sure how my team would perform. Plus, Stinkilemons really looked good on saturday while I was busy throwing a league game I felt I could have won.

Quite a few d2 / d2-d1 matchups for round two. I've got Vector away :( Not decided yet whether I'll go for a win or not.

Well I played patient and my scorer went down 5 minutes in. He was also guarding the SG slot and he was replaced by backup Cs. So I played the entire game with a backup C guarding a 95k SG with my opponent playing Princeton. The SG had a game high 24 points to go with 7 dimes...I'm surprised there was no garbage time all things considered

In the first clash, Durham Wasps overcome Stinkilemons by a score of 73-53 to book his place in the next round whilst M Dogs thrashed a second string Gauson side by a score of 140-78. ROUND TWO SUMMARY
The second round saw no real surprises as all EBBL sides cruised through to book their spots in the third round. The highlight match up of the round saw new jersey2 take on BC Wild Hawks. The game was closely contested through but the former managed to show their class and edge away in the second half to win the game by a score of 98-87. The division II clashes were all fairly close as Doncaster Hawks outplayed Derby County winning by a margin of 22, WTK Trail Blazers overcame Mortal Vombats to win by a similar margin. JA Miami were defeated by Spoiled by a score of 61-78 whilst Arsenal 98 romped Vector BC away from home to secure a place in the third round.

The third round sees more computer teams depart, once again giving some intriguing match ups. There are also a number of tasty-looking division II match ups which see 29th seed, Whetstone Wizards, host Realdemardi who are ranked 54th, Arab City play BC Giants, Southern European take on Upton Tigers and Optic Fibres host the Lusitania Brasil All Stars.

Good luck to all teams next week.

ROUND THREE SUMMARY
The third round saw two highly rated EBBL sides in Tatatallfella and Durham Wasps take on some class division II opponents in Flaming Carrot Unit and BC Snaiperiai respectively. Both games were both a bit anti-climatic as the EBBL sides blitzed their way into the next round, both winning by margins of 40. The four all-division II clashes saw Whetstone Wizards lose to Realdemardi in an absolute belter of a game, by a score of 163-142. Arab City played a weakened line-up giving Bc Giants an easy passage to the next round with the latter winning by 68. The game between Upton Tigers and Southern European was closely contested with the former edging it 109-92 and Optic Fibres prevailed against Lusitania Brasil All Stars.

The draw for the fourth round will see Durham Wasps drawn against an EBBL team for the second time this season, travelling to the home of Club Deportivo San Andres. All of the other EBBL sides managed to avoid each other, but a select few still received tough draws with Tatatallfella playing 14th seed, Triximos Tricks, Sabre of Valiente hosting JR Knights and M Dogs packing his bags for a trip to LT-UniTed.

As you said, my second all EBBL game this week. Having had a pretty nice draw last season, and truthfully in some other seasons that I went deep into the tournament, I can't really complain. Plus both my games against EBBL opponents have been at the Nest so it could have been worse.

I also noticed that there are no bot vs bot games in this round so we'll see the last of the bots go out.

Not sure what kind of idiot doesn't know if he's at home or away but there you go. Still thought we'd have enough to win tonight but it wasn't to be. I felt the game shape and enthusiasm advantage would be enough but clearly was wrong. Not helped by fouls (Fallon and Mouchot, the others were too late to make a difference) and a lack of rebounding but those are the risks you take with fcp.

I'm pretty sure Deportivo's opponents on saturday will be happy they crunched tonight. ;)

5 d2 teams gone out to d3 opponents this round! Shows how hard it is to balance league and the cup I guess / how competitive most d2s are.

I won by 40 vs a d3 who'd won all his game this season on TIE. Before the game I worried about being crunched and his extra enthusiasm which made him just dangerous enough for me to normal...In the end he only normaled too.

Just 2 bots left, who gets lucky?
