Good day everyone !

Here's the topic for this new season of NT. Several roster changes are in the air, including the very important departure of one of our key players, Hugo Nachtergaele. With no less than 141 games (!) for the national team, and 1537 points scored, making him the second longest serving player and fourth best scorer in the history of our NT, the player trained by our beloved AnGi has been the backbone of our team for many seasons.

Unfortunately, now aged 35 it is time for him to let younger players take his place, but he will sorely be missed.

I also remind you all that this is my last term as NT coach, I can't say for sure that I won't come back later but right now I really need a break. This is already the "mandate too much", I did an awful tournament last season, popularity is at it's lowest since a very long time, and I wouldn't even be NT manager if someone trustworthy had applied.

If anyone is interested, please send me a mail so that I can brief you before you apply for the job, but one thing is certain : I won't be running again next season, no matter what does or does not happen.

Ir was an honor being NT manager, and I will never forget the crazy runs in season 32 and 33, with Belgium qualifying and fihting for a semi-final spot until the very last games after wins against Ukraina and France. One of my best BB memories EVER.

This being said, we enter the consolation tournament. Our ranking has sunked to the bottom deep after last season's disaster, and it will take some time to repair the damage done. I hope to make the best possible run for my exit, but we'll also have to see how the team can withstand the departures of some very important players. Of ncourse, newcomers are around, especially for outside players.

I remind every trainer that we're short on big men for the upcoming seasons, so everyone willing to step up and take one for the team is most welcome to do so.

We will be playing Jamaica away and Scotland at home, this is not a bad draw and if we're careful we might be able to pull this off to a good start.

More details to come !

And we take off to a good start with thiw in in Jamaica, which was incredibly difficult to get :

Belgium was down by 13 at half-time, and by 3 before the last quarter. Fortunately the boys improved over time ! With this first win cashed, we'll do our best to get a positive outcome against Scotland, who also won their first game, at home, against Armenia.

Dear BB god,

We, your Belgian Community, have always been faithfull and humble servants. We don't ask for much. just a favorable calender for the rest of the Consolation tournament, that would grant us a shot at HCA in the next NT. We have offered you are sweat, hard work and shed some tears of frustration in the past. Please deliver us the good and don't keep us waiting for another 2 seasons.

I reckon best we can get is 5-3? India away is unlikely to go our way. Greece & Russia away are going to be a simular hard game in unfavorable conditions. Maybe i should have been more specific to which god i was praying instead of the general BB god...

6-2 guarantees you a 32 round birth tho. 5-3 means you need a pretty good point difference to get a horrible away game fixture, resulting in a certain bounce from the first round of 32

A pretty good win against Scotland, with a very comfortable margin. Failed GDP from them helped the numbers a lot, but now the schedule doesn't look too good. Yes we have some easy games later on, but playing Russia and Greece away (and it seems like it happens to me almost every season to play Greece away) and Philippines, though at home, isn't a gift neither.

The task ahead doesn't seem easy :/
