I got the highest TSP draftee I've ever had (66). He even has a really good build with no holes. Too bad he's only got star potential.

I know.

He could become a useful defense only backup guard but that's about it.

IMO ever since they changed the TSP of the draft, 18 yr old draftees are, on average, too low in TSP to be useful anymore.

I would estimate that 19 yr olds have approximately 30% higher salaries and TSP than 18 year olds. They also tend to have more consistent builds on average with less holes in them (for example your atrocious IS PG).

The extra year of training just isn't enough to overcome the difference in starting skills.

Frankly, the minimum TSP for draftees should be 50. The real-world equivalent of a mid-40 TSP draftee wouldn't make the draft board of an NBA team.

Not that I disagree, necessarilly, but there could be a counter argument that says that even the best III draft would be selecting no better than the 241st best 18 or 19 year old in the USA, and how many of those would ever even sniff a D-league slot?

I still think the draft needs to have more semi-finished players of the 20-24 year old range, to simulate the guys who have gone to college and are good players, but may not be the hot shiny stars that seem to be the only thing to look for in the current draft system. But I'm sadly confident I'll continue thinking that and my thoughts will be as relevant in five years time as they are now.

I think 18 year olds at least need to be around 50-55 to be comparable to a draft slot in the NBA.

yea i need to draft a+ only next time..

There was a 5/5 player “a” rated that I placed ahead of a 5/4 a+ ..

The 18 year old pointguard turned out to be mvp with 45 tsp...imo 18yr olds gotta come with 50tsp stsrting imo....

and my pg has atrocious IS and aweful JR..

I had the opposite situation. My 2nd preference I drafted a 5/5 "A+" 19 year old that ended up with only 43 tsp MVP. The other guy I had as my top preference was a 5/5 "A" 18 year old that ended up being 54 tsp MVP (unfortunately didn't get him). That 100k I spent on this draft could go a long ways for a poor little D4 team:(

Same.

I drafted a 5/5 A+ player that added up to 45 TSP w/ HOF potential. My second round pick was a 5/5 “A” prospect that added up to 54 TSP and MVP POT. To say the least, I was very disappointed by my primary stacked A+ prospect w/ 45 TSP.

** Both players were 18 y/o **
