I would love if something similar to NBA 2K’s rotation timeline is implemented in buzzerbeater.

With a rotation timeline, it would be possible to stagger minutes as desired, ensure a player isn’t getting too few or too many minutes, and avoid situations where backups are playing heavy minutes in crunch time (I’ve seen games where my backups will enter the game in the final 3 minutes of a close game and not be subbed out).

Poor Jamal.. What has he done to get such a team ?

More seriously, I think the current system is fine (though I don't like the exhaustion feature but that's not the subject). I totally understand your point, but managing game time is one of the only tricky things of this game.

There are already so many random events : injuries, game shape, skill drops, quality of draft classes, schedule, game results... If the rest is too simplified, then I don't see how we could still call BB a management/strategy game.

I'd like to have control over the rotation to be able once and for all to _manage_ my minutes. Adding this option doesn't take away from the management aspect of BB, it's the opposite in my opinion.

And if you want to strategize still, you could start to look for patterns in the opposing teams by analyzing the Play-By-Play of their previous matches, and craft an "anti-rotation" that puts all your best shooters when you see their bad defenders are on the bench etc.

I don't see how adding the possibility to craft rotations is something that takes away from the management or the strategy aspect of the game

One of the main challenges of BB is to manage minutes. The way you are proposing would make managing minutes piece of cake. The only aspect of BB that is debatable in terms of minute management are indeed crunch time, where many times the coach makes somewhat stupid decisions, and garbage time, when the team which is losing keeps playing their starters even if they are losing for 100 points. I think we should have a bit more of control of minute management of crunch time and garbage time, otherwise BB is good the way it is.

I have wanted this a long time, problem is that it makes training too easy. The training system needs to be revamped before something like this can be implemented.

I'd also like to see this taken a step further where you can set different tactics for different lineups. Eg starters always play run and gun and m2m defense, bench plays patient and zone. I think it would really assist with team building and lineup building.
