I only managed to successfully blitz Elmacca, but it's not like I didn't try to win at least 1 game per week

You mean, you caught me 2 days before the cup semi final with Big Mac and Barker being rested

But good job on the report the salaries are a bit out now after the player updates (me 596 > 622) - plan on updating them?

Updated also in the OP, thanks Erkboy.

Barker had pretty bad GS anyway coming from an injury, Ma Anhui ended up defending Adams or some other backup, such a waste, and I trained single position at PG that week like most other weeks. Not saying I would have won on the road if you went full lineup, but I doubt it would have been a blowout even with me training like I did. I think you slightly overestimated your team at the time, trying to win 3 games in a week by mixing it up (well, against me there was always the chance I'd go full lineup in the home game and throw the game against you, but I did try to win mostly road games for the $$$). I tried to blitz Vecx as well and the game ended up being fairly close in the end (the sly fox played Innes at SF!) *-:).

I just reject the notion that I tanked throughout the season, I didn't, I played for $$$ and to get into a relegation playout because I thought I was gonna be able to pick my opponent. However I did make a lineup mistake against Wlodawianka and lost to MTD due to injury and foul out. Of course, when I couldn't catch CWA for 6th anymore and I already scouted a 5/5 prospect, I decided I would try to get enough PD to stay ahead of MTD and get the 2nd pick (which was risky because if Gauson had thrown his last game, MTD would have overtaken me). So yeah, it's probably fair to say I semi-tanked in the last few games.

It was more of a last roll of the dice on the season than overestimation. Win those two league games and I only had 3 losses at that point and had the option of adding another player to try and win the league. Those two league losses and the cup semi-final defeat meant I punted the rest of the season in terms of trying to win any silverware.

And yeah, tanking's not cool since the process blew up in Hinkie's face ;-) However, obtaining the optimum draft position when your playoff hopes are gone is a well-established strategy any sensible GM would adopt.

I guess we'll have to count Sabre among the rebuilding teams!

Jochem is the much, much, much weaker version of Ma Anhui. It will be interesting to see if it sells for that much...

In other news, 37yo Avery Raymond popped in IS today. No doubt it'll go back down next week but presumably its a rare event.

Thank you, everyone, for the warm welcome! Bergkamp is right in saying that there are a lot of people in which I like in this league. I have not yet decided what I am going to do this season as I have a few ideas. Nevertheless, looking forward to a good season with you all. Good luck to everyone.

Not sure if I made the joke on the forum, maybe in the NT thread, but I know I did say it to our noble lord at one point, that Fallon had not been in great game shape since the Cup final last season, so I jokingly described him as being out partying (I actually said out on the piss) since finally winning something. Clearly, its continuing and again he hasn't moved from 7 GS. Drunken sod!
