Those multiskilled players still cost more to train than buy. Atleast nowadays you can train profitable in someways.
I have to second this post - and agree with Wolph on some points. Even though the prices on the market are extremely high at the moment and I don't find a suitable (young) player to complete my team, I'm against inserting too many FAs into the market. I've always liked training a lot more than finding and buying players on the TL and I grow attached to my players so that it's really hard to sell them even though it makes perfect sense from an economic point of view. But the main thing that I like about this game is the long-term planning. And that's a lot harder if you have either to train players to your liking or raise enough money to buy the 150 TSP-monsters ...
and to the original post/ suggestion: would the player not become a FA if he was called up to the NT? If he was important enough, you could save him, couldn't you? (I'm just not sure if that still works, even though I've translated quite a few news, the setting for FAs have been changed quite a lot - which also leads to some confusion and that's another reason why I'd be against another change in the FA-policy ...)
