Well, this was an unexpected victory. We'll take it for maybe climbing a place in the world-rankings, but I would have loved it more if we'd had a real game and not scared the danish U21 away with our strong appearance

So nothing really new this week - give the young guys another push on the training side and I'll be more than happy on Friday

Well, that was our third victory in a row (39615). Not too bad, I guess. Even though the win against Denmark was due to the fact that we scared them away, it's still nice to see that our roster is developing into the right direction. We are going to have a rematch against Korea next week in Korea - so we'll see what the HCA will be worth. I hope it won't eliminate the +20 points we had today ...

I called up a couple of new players that are going to make their U21 debut or already made it today. We have some potential to build upon and if you continue the great training, we'll definitely be seeing results in a couple of seasons. The best debut today was made by Greg Mowat (40634238) - not bad to be the leading scorer in your first U21 game ... and shooting over 50% ... thanks at the Macau Hospitallers and their manager Chloe ^^ for the great training. We'll definitely hope to be seeing more of Greg's offensive power in the upcoming seasons!

I've also called up one player from the Forfar Flyers besides Adam Holmes (40634657), that's Blane Gallacher (40634652). Both of them will be on the transfer list soon I fear as the Forfar Flyers-Franchise will go bot next Monday if the don't happen to log in this week ... it's always sad to lose BB-players but we have to make the best of it and save those two players. Both could be a great addition for the future U21 roster if they find a home with a manger that will give them the best training possible. I hope you'll bookmark them and we'll find them a good new home!

And now - keep up the training, last Friday was great again with 11 skillups ... I wouldn't mind getting something like that next friday as well

Playing at home really DOES have it's advantages. I very nearly got scared when the korean U21 team pulled away in the first half and nearly sent us home with a defeat after we had a "fairly" easy win at home last week. We're going to play another game on neutral court (probably at BB-Perpete's arena in France). I'm happy that we managed to rally back from the 20 point deficit in the second half and pulled away with the win. Our training-hero Stuart MacInally (something like 7-8 pops in major skills in the last 7-8 weeks!!) finished strong and shows that he'll be up for the challenge to lead the team on the offensive end next season. Gary Gow also showed that he's developing into the right direction and led the team again with 12 assists. I'm very happy with the direction our team is developing and hope to help shape some of the future NT-players ...

And our second Stuart, Stuart Fife from Fife Saltires (he HAS to be THE franchise guy there with this name) made his debut today. Maybe not as impressive as Greg Mowat last week - but he did outscore him 6-4 and showed that he already can pass the ball to other guys that are able to score ... thanks Ally for being open to suggestions concerning training and everything ... you're a great addition to the scottish community!!

I'm happy to follow all the great developments of our future players - and wouldn't mind if our winning streak (currently at 4 wins) doesn't end too soon - even though it's not the most important part yet. That's definitely motivating you guys to continue to train those young talents and lay the groundwork for (hopefully) lots of (or at least, a couple^^) victories in the seasons to come!

Have a great week everyone!

Cheers, Wendell

Third game against the Korean U21 - third victory. This time on a neutral court - at BB-Perpete's arena in France. I decided to make the transition into the "new" roster for next season a smooth one - so I set up only 20y old players as starters and the 21 year olds as backups. I don't know what went wrong with Boyd Coltrane, maybe he switched passports with some other guy - anyway, he ended up on the starting 5 despite being set up as a backup. He kind of got into the game and finished with 20 boards, 4 assists and 13 points. He probably wanted to show us that we'd be missing him next season ... Same goes for Adamson Fraser who came off the bench to score 34 points in 24 minutes ...

But what I liked most was that our young guys did a solid job and are going to be up for the challenge next season. Especially since they're all working hard to improve their skills: 13 green arrows last friday are something to work with

We also have a new manager in the scottish community: Manager Skillz with his team BC Friends (57674). Welcome! I hope he'll be as enthusiastic at training scottish youngsters as the newestest two members before him, Ally from the Fife Saltires and Doas from BC Funees ...

I think I'll try to set up a scrimmage against another team next week. It was a lot of fun to play against our korean friends and their manager statsman - but I feel that we need to play other teams in order to improve and get ready for next season...

So stay tuned for the next game ...

... and if you want a short recap of the last one, be sure to check out this post by statsman during our last game: (281964.41)

Well, that was a nailbiter. (39764) And we almost walked away with the 6th win in a row. With 17 seconds to go, we pulled ahead for the first time in what seemed like ages, but with 4 seconds to go we defended but didn't get hold of the rebound. And with 0.0 seconds to go, they scored the buzzerbeater. To bad - since we were playing without three 21 year olds. The Latvian manager first didn't want to allow us with any 21 year olds, but they have a different player base there and more young players to choose from than Scotland does (for now!!). So I agreed that I was allowed to start one 21 year old (Adamson Fraser who came up big with 46 points) and one as a backup (Douglas MacMurray who has been a big help througout the season). Unfortunately, LA-Lakeris guessed that I wanted to give Adamson Fraser another huge game to make the Top 10 on the all-time scoring list. Without his right guess at the GDP, we probably would have won. But on the other hand, we gave them a real fight, kept the game very close and without our two 21 year olds, we wouldn't have been as close as we got. So they definitely deserved the win - even though I also like to win a lot ...

We had a HUGE debut by Adam MacKean who has worked very hard this season and definitely earned the starting spot at Center with his 9 ups so for. We definitely will be missing Ross Phillipson, Boyd Coltrane & Co - but we have some talent that's ready to fill the spot. Thanks also to McWinston for pointing out to me that Adam might be ready to join the team - he definitely is: 14 boards, 10 points for a double-double and an additional 2 blocks and 1 steal are a bright hope for the future of the team.

We have one more game with this years 21 year olds - and I have decided to use it as a last game since I already am prepared for next season and don't see why those "old" guys shouldn't be allowed to play another game ... the only problem will be finding a team to match up against ... maybe the turkish u21 will be up for the game. At the moment they are playing our friends from korea - and korea is leading by 1 point ... it seems that our 3 matches have helped both of our teams improve quite a bit...

Stay tuned for the last game of the season - and always keep feeding me updates of your players via BB-Mail!

Have a great week, everyone!

Cheers, Wendell
