Hi all,

I just wanted to check if anyone has any questions for me or Watson regarding the election. It's been very quiet and I think it would be good to get some questions or a discussion going.

Fire away!

Question for both candidates. How do you feel is the best way to run the U21 in terms of staffing and community engagement? We've had a good run under the previous manager, how do you intend to continue the success and build upon it?

What processes do you intend to use to ensure the best young players are highlighted and trained to the best of their ability? Is your plans to have the best players for the U21 or to make sure the plans are in place to see the MVP/HOF players be built more sustainably for a NT future?

Hello. Everything about BALANCE in my eyes - we should choose what results we want - trying to win with strongest squad we can or 2nd option having balance and growing U19/20 players as well with good potential in U21 NT - one of the main reasons/thing in my eyes - U21 should grow and help orher managers to grow NT Material/Players for a future.

About staff - I believe U21 NT should have staff team , for scouting, training plans/advice, second coach for tactics/players discussions.
We have youth training systems in BB but a lot people don’t know this - U21 staff should look after England U21 players all around BB , contact team managers , talk with them , give some advices, provide training plans and comunicate - you cnat run U21 solo it’s nonsense.

I have said for a few seasons now that the English forums are too quiet. I have tried using match reports for both NT teams to try and improve forum activity. It doesn’t appear to have worked much as the Nt forum was still very quiet last season. I will continue with the match reports again this season but maybe creating a poll for the players of the game would work better than me choosing. That way the community decides the MVP of the season. And that way they will get to know the players better and be more involved/interested in the games?

As for u21 staff, I think the past couple of seasons working between me and js8 has worked well, although js8 did most of the scouting work, training plans etc, I was more helping with tactics. Js8 has offered to help me again next season if I do win the election, but likely with roles reversed. However I do think if we have the right managers, adding more staff to the u21 set up would be helpful. As Watson said, 1 person shouldn’t be dealing with contacting every 18,19,20 and 21 year old. I would enjoy help in that regard.

We have had 2 really good seasons to build from, quarterfinal’s last season and only 2 points away from beating Lithuania and qualifying the season before. Honestly the team this season isn’t looking as strong, but looking at the draw I’m not ruling out qualification just yet. But to build on the recent success I am looking to be in contact with managers of every player with 7 or higher potential to try and build as many good u21 players as possible. However balancing that with creating high quality senior NT players is another goal. The top nations at u21 level in BB have managers that train players specially for u21 level, hence why you will see bigs aged 21 at 100k salary. I would like to try and get more managers doing this. I do this already with my Utopia team, as do you Zeus, and I’m hoping more can do the same. Take my player Goodhew for example, 21 this year, I paid 3k for him when he was drafted, trained IS/ID/RB and now he’s a really strong u21 player, and as he only has 8 potential I will probably sell him at the end of the season for a decent profit and start training the next u21 players. To have a successful NT system the u21 needs to build players for both the u21s and senior team and I will be looking at aiding in building monster players for both.

As said in my previous post, the team this season isn’t a strong as previous but with good game shape, correct tactics and a bit of luck we may be able to qualify ahead of Germany. Belgium also look pretty good, we actually play them in the scrimmage of Monday so that’ll be an interesting test to see where we are.

My realistic goal is 3rd behind Italy and Germany. My ambitious goal is 2nd ahead of Germany. But our success relies very much down to the managers to make sure all the squad get good training throughout the season, making sure they have good game shape all season as well.

Yes U21 - not rocket science. There are simple training systems for every position, there is a lot of information about elastic effect, potential importance, age, height meaning for training and position, etc. Just sometimes people do not find this kind of information so U21 staff should help to train at least players with good/big potential as we know lots of good talents just get lost in future 1) Poor training 2) Too competitive Team/League 3) Unactive manager and similar reasons.

Great win for the u21s this afternoon against a team in our group! It wasn’t looking too good in the first half but a great team effort to dominate the 2nd half.

I just wanted to say good luck Watson. May the best manager win!
