We actually got a game 3 as the Andorra coach selected a squad at the last minute. Thankfully I was alert and noticed this on my lunch break to adjust the team selection.
England dominated the game from start to finish as expected. The England offence was on fire throughout, shooting 62.% from the field and 60% 3FG. Apparently the Andorran squad didn’t want to play defence as not only did they allow England to shoot such high field goal percentage, they only gave up 2 free throw attempts, both of which were missed by SG Amarsari Singh. The free throw misses didn’t make any difference as England ran out winners 117-68, ironically the same points difference as if Andorra forfeited as previous games.
PG Jonathan Hendriks top scored with 21 points on 10-15 shooting and added 4 assists. SF Kirby Yarwood and SG Amarsari Singh hit 3 3 pointers each on their way to 19 and 17 points respectively. 20 year old Wes Fairclough came off the bench to score 18 points in 18 minutes on his U21 debut. PF Francis Padilla was the top rebounder with 12 to go with his 7 points. The team shared out the assists with 4 players getting 3 assists each with Hendriks and Yarwood each with 4 assists.
England move to 3-0 for the season, tied with Italy as the only unbeaten teams in the group. England next face Malta who are yet to win a game.
