hey zander hi!
and well done for getting promoted!
this league has just got tougher and tougher. my first season here 3 seasons(?) ago and i only *just* stayed up but have found it easier after that as i built my arena, fan base and upgraded my players.

i stayed up in the first season exactly how lambaw said - i managed my GS, enthusiasm and picked the teams i wanted to finish below me. Its as brutal as that. Things will get ugly, they always do, but the finest minds, the finest managers will win through at the end of the season, and thats what its about :)

just dont finish last, keep enthusiasm and GS high, and even if you are in the relegation play off, you should be in good shape to win over.

Good luck, and make sure you train english guys ;o)

The recent appointment of James Gascoigne tothe U21 team is my first ever trainee to make it to U21. I have never trained a player to NT, so this is my target for him.

I have another player who is a late starter, but it is feasible he could make the NT one day. probably not the U21 though.

Will look to get another english guy when a decent one comes up at a fair price... you have a prolific record of training stars. you should b proud mate

Is gascoigne an sf? I'm trying to guess millar's chances of making the team this year, obviously he is a sg :)

I trained Singh to the u21 team but he never actually started a game

from what you can tell he is more of an sg than a sf!

all you can do now to maximise his chances of playing is to train him each week (you can ask the u21 manager what, if you have flexibility) and to make sure he plays under 72mins to build up his GS to proficient. This last point is very important as it will make him that much better than other players with lower GS.

Even making the squad is an achievement and with Millar's salary i guess he has some higher more expensive shooting skills. So, provided his OD isnt a let down (check wth U21) you could always keep boosting his JS and maybe HA/DR?

It probably is the division of death, but statistically you would expect 8/9 teams in the top 50 and for all the teams to be within the top 100, so it's not massively so. All the Div II's are pretty tough for teams trying to move up.

The killer this season is Mikitos, your cup run skewed your ranking, so realistically you’re probably somewhere in the 14-18 region IMO, I think my 24 is about right maybe a couple high, but once you get outside the top 14, it’s not a huge gap to bridge. Mikitos ranking is 6, and objectively probably somewhere around 10-12. He has the payroll of an established EBBL team, he should be an EBBL team, so that’s too big a gap unless he decides to blow it up.

Therefore I think if ever there is a season to take stock & go backwards to ultimately go forwards, it’s this one.

Yeah, sorry I was wrong, at worst you're the 8th team. I was vaguely aware that the Big 8 was much stronger, but having not concentrated much on it, didn't realise how ridiculous it was last season.

In this side of the division over the last couple seasons all the teams have ben cranking up the investment in players and their wages. When one or two teams do it the pressure increases on the others and I think the tipping point reached where if u want to stay in the division you can't do it on really small salaries. I wonder whether this kind of thing took place in the ebl long ago in the big 8, but for some reason hasn't happened in their great 8?
I only spent so much money on players and wages instead of arena because my opponents did!
