The expected lost

There was only 1 team on the court after halftime and it was Lithuania. We were tied after QT2 (43-43) and finally lost by 26 pts. I tried something with a Patient but it did not work as expected. I wanted Smet to take shots but Haesaerts took them.

It is not big deal. a win was of course an option but its probability was close to 0. There is still 2 games to win to be part of the 16 first team and host at least the first knockout round.

It is All Star Game week so only 2 games this week for most of the teams. I hope everyone will be competitive in their championships and still have good shapes on friday. Next game, to Slovensko, will be a tough one but there is only one option. Victory !


La défaite attendue

Il n'y avait qu'une seule équipe sur le parquer après la mi-temps et ce fut la Lituanie. Nous étions à égalité après 2 QT (43-43) and nous perdons finalement de 26 pts. J'ai tenté quelque chose en jouant Patient mais cela n'a pas fonctionné comme attendu. Je comptais sur Smet pour prendre les shoots mais Haesaerts s'en est occupé.

Ce n'est pas très grave. Bien sûr que la victoire était une option mais sa probabilité était proche de 0. Il reste matchs à gagner pour faire partie des 16 premières équipes et accueillir au moins le 1er de la phase à élimination directe.

C'est la semaine du All Star Game donc seulement 2 matchs cette semaine pour la plupart des équipes. J'espère que chacun sera compétitif dans son championnat et auront quand même de bonnes formes vendredi. Le prochain match, en Slovaquie,sera difficile mais il n'y a qu'une seule option. La victoire !

We will survive

It is a sad lose, by 4 points against Slovakia. Even with missed double GDP, they won that crucial game for them. Without a win, Slovakia were eliminated.

We had big problem on defense. Slovakia had 40 FT and only 13 faults. 10 FT and 28 faults for us. Because of faults, Haesaerts has played only 15 mn, Lo Cascio 24, Mulier 22.
I wonder if our players improve as fast as our opponents.

On our side, we're ranking 23. The last game against Macau should allow us a place in the first sixteen to host the first game of the knockout round.

Nous survivrons

C'est une triste défaite, de 4 points contre la Slovaquie. Même avec une double PAM ratée, ils ont gagné ce match crucial pour eux. Sans une victoire, la Slovaquie était éliminé.

Nous avons un gros problème en défense. La slovaquie a eu 40 LF et seulement 13 fautes. 10 LF et 28 fautes pour nous. A cause des fautes, Haesaerts n'a joué que 15 minutes, Lo Cascio 24, Mulier 22.
Je me demande si nos joueurs progressent aussi vite que nos opposants.

De notre côté, Nous sommes classé 23. Le dernier match contre Macau doit nous permettre d'être dans les 16 premiers et d'accueillir le 1er match des éliminations directes.

Continuez à entrainer, continuez à jouer, nous continuerons à gagner !

Today's game is against Macau. A pretty weak team that is eliminated of the consolation tournament.

But it is not over about us. We need a big win to optimize our PA and obtain the best ranking possible for hosting the first games of the knockout round.

Knockout round already begins taking care of players shape and also optimizing training.

We end at ranking 23. Worse than expected because we're not part of the first 16 so we won't host the next game.
We'll travel to Greece. Of course the tournament isn't over but it's harder now.

Greece has a good team but I believe international ranking gave them a better schedule and worse team than we played so better final ranking of consolation tournament without being better than us.

I'm confident with our team. See you next monday at 17:30 on the chatbox.

Greece isn't as good as it was

It is now knockout rounds ! Greece is our opponent. They are currently 15 mondial ranking. A ranking which can feared us. But in my opinion, we are far from being dead. We all know that Greece is a basketball country with always overexcited attendance. It is the kind of game that our players want to be part. A one time experience in the life of some players.

Shapes are in favor of Greece but ours are pretty good. I feel we'll win that one and continue the competition.


La Grèce n'est pas aussi forte qu'elle ne l'était

C'est l'heure des éliminations directes ! La Grèce est notre adversaire. Ils sont actuellement 15 ème au classement mondial. Une place qui peut faire peur. Mais à mon avis, nous sommes loin d'être mort. Nous savons tous que la Grèce est un pays de basketball avec des publics surexcités. C'est le genre de match auxquels nos joueurs veulent participer. Une expérience unique dans la vie des joueurs.

Les formes sont en faveurs de la Grèce mais les nôtres sont plutôt bonnes. Je sens que l'on va remporter ce match et continuer la compétition.
