I think in the end I just caught Ásgeirsson on a shooting heater especially in the last half of the 4th quarter. Every time you got the ball then I was hearing the Jaws theme and it turned out last night it was my turn to be Quint! Serves me right for the rare double-missed game day preperation really as even a single miss in that might have been enough to give me the victory with the home advantage and you also missing.

It's Revolta next for me on Tuesday before I return to the Great 8 fixtures, but unlike Santa Booker I am away in this game so I still expect another tough night despite last night's result.

Glasgow Blue Jays got both game day predictions right against Bezerkers Ball Club with tremendous-high rated perimeter defence and proficient interior defence and won out 117-30 which sounds like a real schooling already except that this was something of a recovery by Bezerkers as the score was actually 62-2 at the half! If as the saying goes "defence wins championships", the Blue Jays seem to have some silverware in their near future.

Chicago Bulbs II gave Santa Booker almost as bad a night as despite Santa Booker having a team out that could still get 120 team rating they shot 21%, 11% from 3, lost rebounds by 9, and assists by 22 with only two players scoring double figures and only Draper having a double figure efficiency score (+16) in losing the game 105-53.

I may be biased but my game against Revolta Culé B.C was likely the game of the night. Like in the last game against Skytturnar my opponents had me playing inside tactics for a wrong game-day prep guess (I was playing Princeton this time), and I double missed having Revolta play Motion instead of Look Inside. It ended up 115-115 at the end of regulation, entered overtime, and finished with an Ian Busby buzzerbeater jumpshot for 2 giving us a 130-129 win that puts Revolta in a tough spot at 3 games down on a playoff place with only 7 games left.

As I see it after this round. No doubt you finish number 1 and clearly have the strongest in your group.
Revolta needs probably 6 of 7 to go through.

I tested the idea I have thought about, a lot of changes this and probably the next 2 seasons if possible, with financials in mind.
I know there was a big strength difference, but even so, give me some ideas. I played with 4-1. Only one big one and the other was, except for subs, guards, and type of players.

Will need to taste it sometimes to see how it really is, but... But all this speed is clearly getting more people to the hall, even though they pay more. That is a difference I have seen. But it could be just this season, will see.

Turned out in the cup at least there was a chance :) !

Back to in-conference fixtures tonight with the "Bigger 6" of the big 8 playing each other.

Celestia BC beat a Chicago Bulbs II resting Faruk Seren 117-105 after both teams botched both of the predictions, Dropito welcomed Finn Pineda back and look to have all but ended Revolta Culé's season after guessing correctly Revolta would play inside and won every major stat in a comfortable 96-70 victory, and Skytturnar played Run & Gun against a Glasgow Blue Jays team that didn't put out "tremendous" perimeter defence this game but did still put out sensational rated PDef and Skytturnar were held to 77 points which wasn't nearly enough.

In the Great 8, Locomotive Edinburgh with 2 100 TSP players injured and with a missed prediction yet again faced an improving team of sharpshooters in Raging Seagull who can quite clearly drop real points against all but the best defences (only Chicago and Celestia have kept them under 80 in league games), but who struggled to stop McNuir, Kennedy, and Buchan in the paint who combined to 80/33/15 on 70% shooting ending up losing to the Scots by 15 and were further behind for most of the game, Glasgow Raptors who are the best rebounding team in the division continued to prove that against league-worst defensive rebounding Bibby Brotherhood winning the rebounding battle 68-36 and the game by 140-124, and Santa Booker's TV game against recently botified Apex Legends likely needed a PiN code to watch ending up 156-41 in score and +261 to -22 in team efficiency!

Congrats to Raging Seagull who played all 5 players 48 minutes against Apex Legends and got best efficiency for the whole division in every single position for combined +239 efficiency.

Dropito and their new bargain Brazilian centre Ermenegildo Rodolfo and a seemingly full-strength Chicago Bulbs II team met in prime end of season form with both having the clear highest game ratings in the division tonight and playing the same Look Inside tactics. Chicago having sensational perimeter defence (against Dropito's strong PDef) seemed to make the difference with Chicago's shooting being better from all ranges and the home advantage probably helping too in a 95-83 victory.

Similarly fellow perimeter defence appreciators Glasgow Blue Jays beat Revolta Culé for similar reasons and didnt need home advantage to put the Andorrans 4 games out of the playoffs easing to a 111-77 victory behind a 46% from 3 point team shooting night.

In the Great 8 conference, Glasgow Raptors going 33-36 from the charity stripe and typically dominant rebounding nights from Shawn Gray and Marc Hutchinson who almost matched Santa Booker's team rebounding total themselves made what could have been a closer night a reletively safe 14 point victory.

Locomotive Edinburgh gave an example of the power of garbage time being 79-19 up after 3 quarters then watching the bench allow 35 points in the final quarter! Back-up power forward David MacMurchie did go 14-7-4 for +19 efficiency in 15 minutes though on the positive side.

The biggest game of the night saw the immovable object meet the other immovable object with Chicago Bulbs II playing Glasgow Blue Jays and both having tremendous perimeter defence. Chicago did everything they can putting in a + effort and playing inside tactics but Glasgow Blue Jays despite the lesser effort had 21 team rating, 1.3 average player rating, 54 efficiency and in the end 23 extra points scored and now have a game advantage at the top of the table.

Celestia BC have recently spent $1.65 million on the Spanish duo of Rodrigo Rodal and Albert Recasens and increased the team wage bill to $681k a week, and with wondrous perimeter defence held Skytturnar to 3.6% from 3 which likely doomed them to defeat, sensational inside shooting doing the rest in a 91-70 win for the Luxembourgois.

In the Great 8, Raging Seagull had both their Malta u21 starters put up quality performances with Tony Bonavia ending with a 54-6-10 +54 efficiency statline and Rudolph Dougall supporting with 19&16 in shocking Glasgow Raptors by 129-122 in a bright night for the future of Maltese basketball.

Locomotive Edinburgh had a tough time being up only 62-60 at the half and with both Buchan and MacNuir being somewhat down on top form, but eventually ground down Bibby Brotherhood through an absolute clinic by Scott Kennedy who ended up 57&18 &+64 efficiency in a 141-109 victory.

Key result of the night was Revolta Culé, B.C's being a potential playoff spoiler in an 151-144 OT win over Skytturnar behind a 38p&21reb peformance by César Benítez. They have the opportunity to complicate things further as they finish the season with a home tie against the current last playoff spot holders Chicago Bulbs II on Saturday who crushed Rocalux 114-25 including holding the Luxembourgois to a scoreless last quarter.
