Here we go. the preview for the season.

I'm starting with the Blue side:
1) Beerschot AC
Salary: 596452$ per week
Reason: About 1/3rd is all centered into Filip Klichowski, the player who dragged our U21 to a world cup victory. He is an exceptional player, with some pretty clear weaknesses. I'm unsure what Beerschot intends to do with him, but there shouldn't be any team in II that can exploit his weaknesses. With such a monster, he could easely play Iso, but you can't go 2-3 zone since he's still got capable enough shooters to go outside and mess with a 2-3 zone. However, considering the age of his squad, it's promote or rebuild completely. They've done it before, can they do it again will be the question. The main concern tho is if Flip Klichowski gets a big injury, cause then that will have consequences...

2) Pongo Squad
Salary: 467 154$ per week
Reason: it feels like Pongo has done the necessairy training he's set out to do. He had a squad that was in transition, but now he's back and should be ready to claim his spot in the PO gauntlet on the blue side. Truth be told, he looks really strong and i've have him as my dark horse for the season. He's got multiple players and might be the one team that can stand up to the strength of Beerschot's absolute monster!

3) TumaSStars
Salary: 412 488$ per week
Reason: It's a coin toss between TumaS and BP, but Tumas beats it out. Slightely better starting 5, but the bench isn't as deep as BP. However, it feels like it's TumasStars season this time around. Just a shame that there is an absolute monster of a player that will be going for the first spot.

4) Basketcats Poperinge
Salary: 459 175$ per week
Reason: A good all round team, with an aging squad. BP has done some minor tinkering to his squad, having sold off some youth to get a 30y old 45k bigman to come in. They'll be in a prime spot to capitalise on any mistakes made by any other contender. Expect another solid season from the gold standard in II.2

5) Insane Hangtime
Salary: 455 006$ per week
Reason: an experienced manager who has returned to BB after having quit for 10 to 15ish seasons. He's got a balanced squad and a deep bench. He's just made the blue conference even thougher. Should be interesting to see what he'll do in this conference. He's a bitt of a wildcard. He could easely end up in the PO spots or could slide down, depending on the results of the 6th and 7th team. He's got a less strong starting 5, but his squad is a lot deeper.

6) Yolymapa
Salary: 604 211$ per week
Reason: The highest salary but that was already the case last season. He's at a salary level that isn't really sustainable, not with Yolymapa's current income or stadium set up. Hence, he's looking to dump 2 players. Once those players are gone, Yolymapa will have no bench, meaning one injury or a player in foul trouble will end up costing him games. However, he'll be a nightmare to face in the Play downs

7) Court-St-Etienne
Salary: 414 147$ per week
Reason: CST is in the same boat as Yolymapa. 5 strong players with no bench. That means that he needs to chose between managing his minutes or sacrificing his GS to get some results. History shows he hasn't always made the best choices, but underestimate CST at your own peril! He's got the capability of beating top teams, but if something goes wrong and he needs to rely on the other squad players, then his performance goes down significantly.

8) BC Pret Rakket
Salary: 280 457$ per week
Reason: First time in II for BPR. They've been put into a murder conference and i feel bad for them, but it will likely be a return to III. The team has a salary under the salary floor and the starting 5 just isn't at the lvl of II just yet. Hopefully they'll use their funds well to enlargen the stadium so that next time they come up to II, they'll be able to put up a real challenge. They were crowned champions in one of the most competitive III's i've seen, so maybe they could surprise us non the less.

And now for the red conference:

1) Kriflonius
Salary: 521 640$ per week
Reason: provided that Kril doesn't forget to set his line ups, he should storm to the first place of the conference. His 2 trainees are rounding into absolute monsters! Assuming he'll continue the training, then it feels like this has to be the season for him. He'll have to promote OR he'll end up having to make a though financial call for next season. BB often provides you with a window of 2 seasons. Considering that he should have been first last season, then it stands to reason that his goal is the title this season. His team has the tools to compete with any of the II teams out there!

2) High Roller
Salary: 398 659$ per week
Reason: HR is a money printing machine. By now, he should be around 6 to potentially 10M in the bank. Should he decided to splash that cash, he could force a promotion, but i cannot help shake off the feeling that he's focussed on printing money in II as well as training some MVP potential youngsters. Therefor, my guess is that he'll be content with his current position and will only go for promotion in 2 to 3 seasons from now.

And after the top 2, it's a bunch of teams who could come in from 3rd to 8th! So i'll let reputation and past results influence where i'm going to predict the teams for the season

3) Vraai Vochtig
Salary: 397 078$ per week
Reason: a Young manager who has learned a bunch about tactics and enthusiasm. He has an aging squad, but it feels like this should be the final season for his current squad before he needs to start bringing in fresh blood. He'll be motivated to do as well as possible before having to rejuvenate his team.

4) Thomas Cook
Salary: 397 287$ per week
Reason: TC is expected to make the PO's. Granted, he has the smallest arena of all the teams in II, but his team is strong enough to compete. He's got an old squad with 4 players past the age of 34, so he needs to make some cash and improve with his training or else he'll soon be on the way back to III. This is a very experienced manager, who should be able to navigate this well. His only weakness probably is that he doesn't believe in building his arena, which will hamper him financially.

5) Amenra
Salary: 338 634$ per week
Reason: a NINE time winner of the BBBL, who has gone down and retrained some young studs. He's on the upwards trajectory and this division should be perfect for him. Young players that are coming into their own and his tactical brilliance, he should be able to win. Just to give you a proper idea, he's a manager that was able to be champion of belgium while the Vottem Cowboys were in the BBBL! That is a serious achievement! I wouldn't be surprised if Amenra took the 3rd spot in the division, but for now i'll predict that they'll be in the pack hunting for a PO spot

6) Duck Dynasty
Salary: 333 798$ per week
Reason: Once again the second smallest salary in the red conference. By reputation, i should make the PO's. However, i've reached the end of a training cycle and therefor need to make some decisions. 2 of my players will no longer improve, yet they are probably the 2 best SF's in the division. There is a hard choice that needs to be made and there is a very high likelyhood that i'll end up blowing up the roster in the season once my finances are sorted out (i made a 1M mistake when it came to building unfortunately which has put me back a season and has placed me in a rather annoying situation. Key for me will be the results with the direct rivals. Considering TC already beat me at my place, i reckon i will be the team that will have to play the dreaded PD's this season.

7) BBC Marteko
Salary: 411 394$ per week
Reason: a former II.2 team that has found it's way back. The good news for them is that they are on the red side. The bad news is that they are in a very competitive conference where salary doesn't mean everything. The starting 5 is very solid from a salary point of view. their most recent acquisition was a 170k purchase of a 100k C. The only way those players come that cheap is if they got a significant weakness. In a division that generally will exploit weaknesses, that is a reason for concern. Will Marteko be able to surprise or will they have to scrap their way to the PD's and hope for a good match up?

8) Knokido
Salary: 214 584$ per week
Reason: investments in the squad will be needed if Knokido wants to survive in this division. The good news is that his arena is solid, so he should be able to make good bank early on and get a player or 2 in. That could change things and could make him able to compete for a PD series, but much will depend on how he manages his team.
