Paspe bought sneakers for his team, loses game shape

Ramsey Paspe decided to purchase 12 pairs of sneakers from his latest superfan, the God of Kicks to support his local basketball club. Under normal circumstances, this would have been no big deal. But with a crucial game against Belgium, pundits are now asking if this was the right time to do so.

“God of Kicks has an offer to all sneaker buyers: Buy 12 pairs of shoes, and you get to meet the seller in person. I decided to purchase those sneakers for the benefit of my team (Clark Skyforce). Also, there is nothing wrong with meeting your fans and getting to talk to them,” Paspe said during a phone interview.

Since meeting with the God of Kicks, Paspe’s play in his last 3 regular season games regressed, averaging only 7.7 points with an efficiency of 24% from the field (8/32). He was averaging 21 points per game with a 55% efficiency from the field (28/51).

It was noticed that Paspe was tired, especially in his last outing against Burninators. His legs were visibly wobbly, and had to nurse his right hand from time to time.

Team coach The Admiral was not available for comment as of this writing.

That took a lot of guts (and a lot of scouting) from coach Morwood to do double GDP. We were going back-and-forth a lot really late last night. I just admire how good he is in scouting, we haven't seen a lot of GDP in the actual games but he's been guessing the opponent's tactics right for a few consecutive games. We've strung a couple of really good wins this season in the NT consolation tournament. Hoping we end the season with HCA in the bag. Let's go!

Congratulations, Coach Morwood on winning against Belgium. That was a tough matchup yet you managed to pull off the upset. This is a testament to how hard you’ve been working and how well you run the team.

No inputs, we are winning again great job to jeorge looks like a smooth partnership. You got to give me a trainee though i only have 1 trainee. I like what you guys were doing before encouraging non trainers to sell more choices in the transfer list.

NT Press Release: Pilipinas stuns Belgium, 87-75
Pilipinas tactics helped in win

Team Pilipinas used a combination of coaching tactics, intensity, and luck to win 87-75 at the ArDome in Belgium Tuesday morning, stunning a crowd of 24,668.

“I was unsure if I was going to change my tactics going into the match, but I had a gut feeling the Belgians will go inside against us. I am lucky to have properly guessed their plan,” Coach Morwood said after the game.

In what was expected to be a high scoring ball game, a combination of defense and poor shooting instead ruled the day. The Filipinos and Belgians missed so many shots you thought you were watching a high school intramurals match. Nonetheless, the planets were aligned and the Filipinos took advantage of their shooting prowess, outscoring the heavily favored Belgians from behind the arc and free throw line.

It was a tightly contested ball game, with Belgium leading 37-36 at the end of first half. The Filipinos then started to pull away in the third quarter, 62-54. The Belgians, however, made one last attempt to rally in the 4th quarter, reducing the lead to 3, 76-73 with 2:26 left after an inside shot by Rafael de Smedt. It was at this point where the Filipinos buckled down on defense, making the Belgians miss shot after shot, while converted their own shots in the process.
.
“I would say I am lucky to have shot well today. Paul (Emery) also had a great game, I am so happy we won,” Pilipinas leading scorer Matt Blanca said during the post-game interview. Blanca finished the game with 25 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, and 1 block in 35 minutes of action. Paul Emery finished the game with a line Scottie Pippen would be proud of: 15 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks in 33 minutes of action. Damien Loos led the Belgians with 19 points, 2 rebounds, 5 assists, and 1 turnover in 25 minutes of play.

The Filipinos are expected to win against next opponent 91st ranked Azerbaijan, while the Belgians would have to slug it out with 20th ranked Croatia.
