The competitive NT season is over for both the senior and junior teams, and it has been an amazing season by both teams. Well done to both coaches. Here is my final write up of the season.
Seniors
A 17-0 start by Lithuania killed any hope of an upset as the England senior team lost 101-80 in their final competitive game of the season. Magdaleno Banuelos top scored with 24 points and Alexey Sanders added 17 points in 12 minutes off the bench. With this defeat, England end the 2nd round group with a 1-4 record, good for 5th in the group.
Despite a poor 1-4 record in the 2nd round group, this has been a very successful season for the England senior team. Just reaching the 2nd round was a huge achievement. Congratulations to Vycka on a strong first season in charge, things are looking promising for the future.
On to the MVP results. As with the u21s this is based on point accrued from earning player of the game.
In 3rd place with 8 points is Ian Needham! The SF has had a solid season with multiple strong all-round performances. He ended the season 3rd in total points and rebounds and 2nd in assists.
In 2nd place with 13 points is Magdaleno Banuelos! The dynamic SG has had an up and down season, some games he scored for fun, others he struggles, but he always plays a key part in the teams success. He finished 2nd in total points.
And the winner and Season 55 MVP is Ken Greene! Greene led the team in points scored by 35 points ahead of Banuelos, led the team in assists and was 2nd in rebounds. His all-round dominance as pushed this team to wins all season.
