Philippines dominates Pakistan 112-80!

The Philippines managed to beat Pakistan 112-80, controlling the game from the start and never looked back! Lyle Morrissey lead the offense with 27 points and Fulgencio, Remaneses and Siena added 20, 15, 15 to help the Philippines control the game. Our bigs had a great game of controlling the paint. Fortunato Arcega had 11 rebounds and 3 blocks and Geoffrey Negradas had 5 boards and 3 blocks as well. Dave Lemoncito is the only player who had a double double of 10 points and 10 rebounds. A new face has also entered the picture! Joselito Ramon Gorriceta managed to play 18 minutes and dropped 14 points in 7-13 from field.

Overtime Thriller!

We had to play the host Macau this week and it was one of the most emotional game yet! At half the Philippines managed to lead the game 51-30, and even lead the game for at most 23 points, but Macau did not give up, who managed to tie the game and complete the comeback with 25 seconds left in regulation and had the ball on the last second of the game. At overtime, it was a boxing match where both sides where trying to get momentum. Raul Remaneses took over with 8 points and 2 assists during overtime and scored the last 2 points to snatch the game from the hosts 103-101. Gabino Cabello flirted with a triple double who had 21 points 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Lyle Morrissey also contributed 20 points. Our bigs was busy as they were the target of the offense of our opponent. Nilo Caniga got 14 boards 3 steals and 3 blocks whereas the veteran Fortunato Arcega got 7 boards and 3 blocks.

First Loss of the Season!

The Philippines suffers their first lost of the season against Indonesia who played with more effort with this game. The Philippines decided to spice things up this game and focused attacking inside. Remaneses and Morrissey both dropped 20 points. Widagdo and Cabello orchestrated the offense with 7 and 6 assists respectively. And Arcega handled the paint once again and got 10 rebounds with 4 blocks. It was a close game but the Philippines fell 89-91.
