Agreed...he has decent secondaries already so he could be a very balanced PF... do you know what the salary cap on Star potential is though? That and his age prevent him from being an ideal trainee.

With star potential, he'll be alright. Do you remember when I used to have Miltos Skotinos (21038334) and Nathaniel Mounier (22722238)? Both had star potential and good secondaries, though Skotinos only had 2 PA and Mounier had 3 OD. Skotinos sold for 396k and Mounier sold for 553k. Not sure about salary cap, but you should ask on the forums. Their cap estimates are 18 to 20, if you understand what I mean.

The other thing is that secondary skills do not eat up a lot of cap room for the most part (RB on guards does but for a PF only a JS pop is remotely close to the same cap cost as an inside skill). For example, if a player is listed at PF, five pops in OD, Handling and Driving combine to count less toward the cap than any two pops in RB, ID or IS. I would definitely encourage getting the OD up and doing a fair bit of one on one at minimum before switching over to inside skills. Maybe more passing too but that's more of a luxury - 7 is certainly acceptable, though more is always better.

There's a fairly accurate training simulator spreadsheet that you can use to test training and builds to see how they progress against the cap. The salary estimates are still high, but it's about as accurate as can be for the training and cap: (https://docs.google.com/open?id=0ByNXe6cWgZCeejZIMDVfalRVd...)

Thanks guys! I think I might just spend this season on getting pops in secondaries, and if I'm satisfied at the end of the season I'll move on to his inside skills.

Just a simple question to you all, when playing away in a National Tournament Game, does my team get ticket sales from it? I don't think I got the money from that tournament.

Nope. You get a fixed amount of cash if you win (50k until fairly late in the Cup) and a plate full of nothing if you lose.

What is this "elastic training" concept? It sounds like it is better to train one on one for 6 weeks then move onto inside defense for 6 weeks then back to one on one for another 6 weeks than train one on one for 18 weeks. Is that the correct interpretation?

What is this "elastic training" concept?
The basic idea is that when similar skills on a player are trained and are at similar levels, they will pop faster. The same goes for the opposite: the farther away, for example, ID is from REB on a big, the harder it will be for IS to pop, compared to if REB were trained. It is better when related skills are trained in a rotation, instead of doing that one skill, which would increase the penalty of the elastic effect. One benefit of the elastic effect is that if a skill that is related to another is way behind, when that skill is trained, it will pop a bit faster than normal until it gets close enough to the other related skills, from my understanding.

It sounds like it is better to train one on one for 6 weeks then move onto inside defense for 6 weeks then back to one on one for another 6 weeks than train one on one for 18 weeks. Is that the correct interpretation?
I guess, but in that time span, it would be even better to train other skills, unless HA/DR is that low.

It looks like the New Year's resolution of some players in this league were to injure more players. Yikes.
