.....if that player could help your team. Let's say you see a player in the TL that is two or three times the price of the average price of the player, but that player have been averaging 15 to 20 ppg in the same division as the team you have. Would you buy that player?

The only time I would buy that player is when he's very very special. But then I don't think he will be overpriced, since the player is too exceptional and then no such thing as overpriced exists.

You can probably find about the same player for a better price at the transferlist as well.

If you're looking for short-term benefits, like when you're trying to qualify for the cup or simply avoiding relegation, then it's a yes. Generally, however, I think it's better if you opt for a more long-term plan where you purchase undervalued players, train them as you please, sell them for an excellent profit margin and finally use the money to purchase a higher quality player.

Well, I have experience in that field hehehe. I´ve bought a player for 9.5 million 2 weeks ago cause I think he´s almost unique. In that case, it can be worthy because there´re 4-5 players like him and they´re not usually on the transfer list. However, if you´re gonna buy a "normal" player, I mean, a good player with nothing special the matter is different cause in 1 month (probably) you´ll get him really cheaper.

Mmmm as they´ve told you, if U need him to avoid relegation, or promote to a better division the answer is YES, cause you have no other way to get a good player before deadline.

See u

Yes and no. I bought Lance van Essen (6861924). He was not two or three times the price, but may be I paid half mill. too much. I needed a SF and could not sit and watch the transfer marked. So it is! When a team has too much money and too little time for this game, that's the solution.

To sort of echo the issue of short-term need, figure that the difference in your income next season may more significant than the degree to which a needed is player is overpriced. If it was my team, I figure I have a swing that exceeds $1million if I were to relegate (I won't say exactly how much), so if I had to overpay less than $1 million if I thought that meant the difference between relegating and staying put, then of course I'd do it if I didn't have another option. A lot of the issue is risk assessment (how much does this player help, is he the missing piece, will you probably win without him anyway, etc.).

Otherwise, I don't overpay for players. There's a lot of fish out there to buy.

Don't ask what sort of Chunks they are, you probably don't want to know. Blowing Chunks since Season 4!

I overpaid for a guy recently and couldn't be happier. He is by far the best player on my team and in my league, and his salary is half what some other players in the league are. I was in a bidding war for him that sent his prcie about 2 million over what I thought I could get him for (my mistake- if you really want a player NEVER bid on him until the last minute of the auction. (if you are gonna be online)). So I was bummed about forking out the cash but I now I think he is totally worth it. He probably has six seasons of being the center point of my team.

as long as he is under 26 and i am sure he will help me in my shorter plans i would definetely overpay. there is always a chance i can sell him at that price if he is not too old.
