PLAYOFF PREVIEW

Hey Guys, It's TomShoe, and it's time to take a long, hard look at the teams still in playoff contention and the favorites to win the title as we head into the last stretch of the season.

How many can come up Big?

The Big 8 has been the most entertaining conference by far, with the playoff race still going strong. Moss2 has established themselves as the clear front-runner for the V.70 title, beating almost all of their main challengers throughout the season. Led by 23 PPG scorer Ethan Dockery, and a 16-2 record to boot, barring a huge upset, they're almost everybody's pick to win the title. The Triangle Trojans and the Darkees are almost sure to make the playoffs, but they need to be careful, because a few bad games could cause them to slip in the seeding, where Moss2 is lurking at #1. As for the playoff race, the Duke Black Devils and the Unforgiven are fighting tooth and nail for that final playoff spot, separated by only 7 points in point-differential. A win next game would be huge here. Don't count out either the Iron Buffalos or Cobra Kai, because a few good wins could lead them to snatch that last seed.

The Mild, Mild, West

As for the Great 8, they've been inferior to the Big 8 all season, with only ONE team having a winning record. However, this can be a godsend for some teams. The Seven City Knights have been head and shoulders ahead of their conference rivals all season. With All-Star Center Roy Luther leading the charge, they're the picks to make the finals. All has not been well at the Roundtable however. The Knights have looked mortal in recent weeks, taking drubbings by Moss2 and the Darkees, and struggling in games against Cobra Kai and the Triangle Trojans. They need to pull it together to defeat the stacked Big 8 an win promotion. The Great 8 playoff race is extremely tight, with only 3 games separating the #2 seed, and facing relegation at #6. The Dogs have the advantage, and the Bigbens are waiting in the wings, being #2 for most of the season. This next slate of games is going to be crucial, as all of those seeds are facing games with other playoff contending teams. This race won't be decided until the finish.
