Do we really want farm teams? I understand the benefits but it requires users with pretty much no interest in the game to train high quality players. Farm teams create quite the stir when discussed in the forums so I am just curious what other Canadian managers feel about them.

I don't, we need more active teams and to grow the community. And farm teams are just short term solutions for the NT.

I think the NT is going to be fine
It may take a few more seasons but there are significant players coming
well trained multi skilled guys
and many in the hands now of top Canadian managers
the U21 on the other hand is a no win
Other countries DO farm and that means the extra pops garnered thanks to trainers that normal teams can't afford
You look at the talent comparisons at age 21

Yeah, farm teams as in teams who are dedicated purely to farming NT talent are not ideal, nor are they long-term solutions. But there are a few teams where a similar thing (i.e., a focus on training Canadians) could really be worthwhile. I still think it would be an idea if we PM'ed them and got their thoughts.

I don't know if our current training is good enough. Nothing's changed except that a few really good and dedicated managers have a few really good players. 80% of our prospects are still in the hands of users who will never in a million years come close to maximizing trainees. Most aren't even being trained.

I'll list every single U21 prospect in our database for easy viewing. I'll give their situation too (simply whether they're training or not). WARNING: it's frightening and I am not at all embellishing any of this.

Season 28 Draftees:

(34359864) - on a bot team. Unreal skills.
(34359455) - on a bot team. Unreal skills.
(34359405) - on a bot team (he's the owned-by-bot guy on Canada NT being saved by NT)
(34359955) - not being trained. this guy was assigned to me for tracking and his manager responds to my messages to train this player, yet doesn't even play this player. ridiculous. angry.

(34359714) - not being trained
(34360089) - probably not being trained. If he is, it's not in optimal skills. Unreal skills.
(34359543) - possibly training? but then, he has another good-looking trainee who'd theoretically be training in the exact opposite position. impossible to be training both.

The rest of my post got cut off, but the rest is even more disappointing. several of our very best prospects are inactive. Like, almost all of them.

have you talked with manager of Karabkin? Maybe he will sell? Even if thats not the case, we will never have 100% accuracy, but at least we are starting to do something about that and hopefully that liost will get shorter with each draft class.

Its really important to check activity of managers that have our prospects so that they can be saved. There is one that I know off who was in a tracking system, one of best prospects, and it wasnt caught that manager doesnt reply for 6 weeks so the player went bot :/

Majority of the MVP+ guys are tracked and are being trained so every manager who is tracking players just has to do his/her due dilligence and we will be getting better each season

(32678745) From Clodhoppers. He had 62 skills at the start of a season. Now lost 6 weeks of training. Think he is still worth saving? I am not sure. I can use 3-4 more spots on NT for saving players, not sure ho wmany sparky can save. Last login is 25th October, so goes bot December 1st. Wouldnt wast a spot for him to be honest. Its a shame he got lost.

(32679266) 69 skills at the beginning of a season. HUGE loss for us. Manager inactive since October 13 (why do they always login last on monday?), so if its 6th monday after last login, then he goes both on November 24th. Missed out a LOT of training but think he is still worth saving.

(32679294) U.T.E. Holding two great Canadian trainees....... Seriously, why those people dont give us a heads up? Last login, 17th October. Goes bot on November 24th. Worth saving. Think he is getting trained still (plays 48 minutes at SG each game so default lineup)
(33558900) ANother U.T.E player, not trained at 19yo. Terrible loss as he is great prospect. Will be saved but those 6-7 weeks of training will hurt.

(32679718) Most skilled guy we have from ages 18-20. By far, and with HOF potential..... Manager didnt login since October 31st, so not getting saved until late December. Only hope: he actually does login. i remember speaing with him at the beginning of a season and he wanted to keep training. Maybe Fortin had one week long injury, manager will login and everything will be fine? Lets hope so. If not, then he will definetely be saved but lost a chance at being truly special player. 7 weeks of trainiing at such young age.....



So here is the moral from all this.
If you are an active manager, PLEASE do check conference overview for your league once in a while, and if a team is inactive for more than a week, take a quick look at roster. If there is a Cnadian trainee in there, let me know ASAP
I am not concerned with superstar prospects to be honest, there can be another Spadaro in there but hopefully at some point MVP potential will be an absolute must to get into NT.

He was on there but my post got cut off. Anyway, the vast majority of our best (the best of our best) MVP+ 18-21 year olds aren't being trained at all.

This is going off my recollection (so I hope managers don't get mad if they see their player listed and I'm wrong) but should at least give a representation of the situation...

21 year olds: Phil-Russell Jones (inactive and worth saving), Logan King (I forget if inactive), Gerald Blanchfield, Andy Townsend, Chris Quick. Also, Stuart Thomas and Stephen Coburn are training but urgently need to restructure training.

That's 5 out of our 8 total 21 year old prospects not being trained and 2 separate prospects being trained poorly. So 7/8.

20 year olds: Tristan Desjardins, Donato Sgallari, Daniel Schmiedehaus, Neal Davies, Leonard Germain, Salah Saad Hasan (inactive and worth saving), Michael Sutton, Lucio Pinnella (inactive or already bot, definitely worth saving. Preferably by u21), Jeffry Irvine, christopher Cobb (inactive), Marc Fortin (inactive), Otis harder.

12 out of 15 total MVP+ 20 year olds not training. The 3 that are being trained are under amazing ownership, though.

19 year olds (drafted season 27, not last season): Zero are on track to make NT which is almost impossible to say for a 19 y/o. Scott Rosenthal inactive, Huang Zhalong needs to change training.

Season 29 draftees: takes too long to look now that I'm not on a laptop. Some are under amazing ownership. Off top of my head, Cletus Robinson, Griffins, Kevi, Damian, RiP, saumong have an 18 y/o. Cletus, Kevi, RiP have multiple 18-21.
