I love everything about this game except one thing. The draft is a giant waste of time and money. I've played like 10 seasons and every draft I fire all my draft picks. I still have no idea how to identify decent players.

i invest about 14-20 pts a yr, and usually manage atleast one good player, this year i got my SF of the future.
Last year my C of the future and the year before my PF of the future.
I usually just do Combine, then sort all 18 y/o to top 19 y/o to bottom then sort by height depending on my target player.
then i pick the best fits height wise for my training plan and will scout a few of them.
Sometimes though, i only invest the 10 pts for combine and sort by age/height and have gotten lucky before.
Good luck this season all!
