Well with the VinLAkers taking a lost to Colorado Lightning last night, it seems as if the path is clearly open for my squad to win the championship this year and advance to the next league... Hopefully we stay up there. Shabaka (Carbondale) you have been a mighty foe and i have enjoyed playing your team, last nights game was a tough nail biter, i truly hope we meet again.
Tip for everyone, build your team by training role players, then buy key pieces you wont get a Diamond in these drafts but you can get a good gold nugget lol.

There's an excellent chance you'll win the championship series, but I wouldn't count my chickens before they've hatched. Good luck to you.

Yea my team is poised to win this VinLAkers was my only worries all season. I Managed the roster well all season long.

I CANT believe one of my guys didn't win MVP. SMFH another year robbed, I guess it was my fault for limiting their minutes at times.

I was trying to run a team base on outside players. It seems wrong.

It's doable. Brian used to run an outside based team that won the NBBA several times, the Silverbacks. That group utilized motion very well, and had some decent showings in the B3. I myself have never really experimented with outside based team comps, but it requires a different mindset. It's easier now that everyone simply can't run LI/m2m every game.

I used to do LI/m2m all the time and would be intereted in ideas for the sweet spot for various team makeups. I am currently playing around with high energy use strategies....i have a deep team with no real top gun $40K+ players. Just hoping to wear other teams out and win late in games. Not working to well for me is it Deucie By the way we also spent about 5 seasons together in IV13. you have been a tough opponent for sure. GL to you and Colorado both!!

Thanks for the input above Aradrad ... very interesting.

New player thoughts, for what it is worth from someone that has only been in D3 for a cup of coffee.

-Spend 8-10 seasons not worrying about wins/losses and build your arena to ~20,000 seats.
-Find a training strategy that works for you. There are lots of ways to do this but for example, right now SG/PG are at a premium. So go on FA market and purchase some 18-20 YOs (some 21-23s can be profitable if get for right price) and train to about 60 (45+15), the higher the better and sell them a few seasons later for profit to build up your war chest. I am currently doing SFs but considering switching to SG/PG.
-Try to have a large war chest b4 go up a division. I currently have $2MM and would like to have $3MM b4 promote to D3.
For D4 competitiveness either have a balanced team with at least $15K salary for each starter + decent backups or have some high cost starters married with lowbudget guys. either way you will need $115K->$165K in starter salaries to win championship. When get ready to win D4 use some of your built up war chest to get some $35K+ players to get you over the top.
At D3 you will need 5 starter at $25K+ to remain in the league and even higher salaries to compete in POs,
Any input on these ideas would be appreciated, especially if I have something wrong .... I have thick skin so please be brutally honest

I'm at 4 and a half seasons. Stadium at 13k or so, bought some young players right away and training them.
