Welcome to you and Mr. Bacon! The loser title aptly applies to my team this year so I embrace it.

Alright, I managed to underestimate some people so I have 1 loss. I'm not going to take chances again.
I'm going to promote unless someone else really pushes. If I don't promote, oh well. But I kinda like the D3 pressure. Been there 3 times lol, and I've only won 1 relegation series. I'll figure it out eventually... I usually start going cash negative and have to sell players and relegate as a result.

I was surprised at that loss right off the bat for you too. Impressive win yesterday for your squad though. You've definitely got a chance at promotion by the looks of things.

Very important to have that cash when moving up to be able to purchase and maintain higher salaried players. I'm a returning manager to the game and made it as for as D.II but it sure was tough up there. The best way to build that cash reserves is to just train players to sell for a profit and build up that arena.

I overbuilt my arena if you want to take a peek haha. I built too many bleachers.
My first loss was because I wanted to focus on training my draftees so I started two 18 yr olds at PG/SG. Combined, they had 2 AST, 4 TO, and 2 AST. But the other 3 were my primary started, my SF had 63 points.
I can't say it was entirely my fault for losing because I Volt is a good team. I think I would have won with my 5 regular starters. We will play again later in the season so I can avenge my loss.

Looks like I made the right decisions and was able to take down #1 in the Big8 conference, BigRed1 and his Running Redbirds, with a score of 130 to 110.
I wasn't going to take a chance with Take It Easy so I went Normal and used my best lineup. My star player, Oren Bacon still fouled out it 24 minutes... I'm not sure he's ever fouled out since he was a sub 21 yr old trainee, but I'll take the 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Besides putting the ball in the basket more (55% FG vs his 43%), I had 8 more shot attempts to help. My team was able to do well in Rebounding (53 vs 31) and Assists (28 vs 14). My players aren't terrible passers, but I'm still surprised I was able to get 28 against such a good team. Maybe 1-3-1 wasn't a good idea against my bigs?
I did have a big enthusiasm rating because this was my first Normal of the season. I think I went in with a Fanatical enthusiasm rating which is 13 out of the max 15.
Anyway, we may both have a different strategy if we meet in the championship game. So I'll just take what I've learned here and continue on my quest to promote this season.

Oh wow. Your arena is huge, haha. Didn't realize you started two 18 year olds that first game. Also, Eze appears to be a nice looking draftee you snagged.

Congrats on the win. That was a close game through 3 quarters. I'm just sitting back and enjoying watching the competition at the top.

Besides pops each week the only other thing I'm looking forward to right now is waiting for that draft list to come out...

I survived my second bout with I Volt, 122 to 113 I lost the first because I underestimated them.

Just looking at FG spread doesn't give you the whole picture. I went 43-88 or 48.8%, versus I Volt's 44-93 for 47.3%. It looks like I Volt had 5 more FG attempts, but that doesn't mean 5 more possessions. I didn't watch the game but breaking down the stats it all came down to Free Throws.
My team shot 37 and made 32. I Volt shot 21 and made 15. That's a 17 point difference which made up the superior 3 point shooting of my opponent to give me the 9 point victory.
Not to mention my team's rebounding (even in a 3-2 zone) which is an important concept I exercise in basketball.
Looks like my TIE strategy paid off thanks to the many free throws my team took.

Thanks, man. Like I said before, I might not have survived if those FTs didn't go in. We'll see what happens in the playoffs ;-).
