Hey guys! New team here, may be relegated but figured I'd ask a question or two.

I used to play awhile ago and life eventually got in the way, but I decided to come back. That being said, I didn't know what I was doing then, and still doing really know what I'm doing now, haha.

Any pointers? I figured starting out buying a couple good trainees seems right, building the stadium up a bit... other than that, just wait and see?

I would say, decide if your young players are worth training, and if so, spend some money on a good trainer (staff)

and regardless, read up about (how to) player training. training a player up and making a quick sell can jump start your franchise early

It sounds like you know what you're doing. I'd suggest picking up the trainees after next week's draft when they are very cheap on the transfer list, and I'd suggest going for MVP+ potential. You can now change the arena pricing immediately, so keep maximizing those gate receipts whenever you build more seats.

I didn't even know that. Is it off season specific? :0

the draft is off-season specific, and teams tend to immediately sell the players from the draft they can't train.

My bad, I meant the ticket changes.

Fair, I'll look into how the draft goes again, I usually botch it somehow.

I think you wanna pick a few youngish or trainable players to train that you intend to keep long-termish at similar positions, ie; SG and PG, PF and C, SF and PF, etc and train them as needed. Then slam a bunch of cost effective vets around them in other positions and tank for a couple seasons to build arena and try to get draft picks. Depends if you want to stay in D.II or go down to D. III and play with the bots for a season or two.

That's awesome advice. Biggest issue I had was impatience, so we'll see what happens, haha.

Playing BB is playing the long-game. If you're impatient then this may not be the game for you. It depends on what you're goals are however. If you want a shot at Naismith, unless you are really good and min maxing, you're probably looking at a 1 to 2 IRL year building stage (if not longer) to even really compete in D. II as a starting team. With that said, there are a tonnes of ways to play Buzzerbeater and have fun. BB is a sandbox and you kinda have to set your own goals for the first several seasons. You can focus on training players, try to improve and compete in the Cup every year or buy and sell on the market and try to flip players for profit, etc. Either way, you gotta chill and enjoy the little things BB has to offer cause it takes a while to build a good team.
