This surely must be a bug? I sold one long time rotation player but it happened previous week. And I had different player play a NT game than normal. Also coming off the best season of my team's history. Nothing else changed. Never seen this big of a drop in merchandise before.

Apparently I wasn't the only one. This team (172841), sold their star player last week (note: I sold mine week before). Their merchandise dropped from 213k to 90k. There is no way 123k merch drop isn't a bug. Could BBs check this? This makes no sense at all.

Paakkinen didn't but Löf did instead of him.

I can see that of course those should hurt merchandising a lot but still almost 60% drop just because of that is bit ridiculous if not a bug

I know it's based of salary but is it really that big of a percentage? Around 40% of the player's salary. If this is the case, next week when Paakkinen plays again I should get almost 200k? And also I think I got more merch income than 135k before Paakkinen even got to the NT. That was during a time with no NT players, less success and much less total salaries.

Well the salary of Paakkinen jumped a bit so it would make sense if the merch income would be higher than ever. But yeah I guess we just have to wait and see.

I'd appreciate if any BB could confirm that it's not a bug and there is a reason for these massive drops. No need to go into specifics but would be helpful to understand the reasoning.
