What does the collective wisdom of this group say on whether a lvl 3 gym is worth it? More generally, I’m curious how you weigh the relative costs of different options for increasing training speed? Has anyone ever tried to estimate the cost per pop of gym, youth trainer of different levels? Trainer skill?

Unfortunately with how slow the pops come and without any proper way to know how much effect the gym really has (hard to approximate sublevels + where they go) something like that would be very tough. I will say though, if you are training for u21 or NT gym being at least level 2 is really helpful. Training court level 1 is pretty much a must for any team, level 1 is the best return for cost imo because you still get your players to a solid level without a ton of weekly fees. YT typically runs cheap so I don't skimp on it, but again that may be because I usually train my young guys for u21 and thus need all the edge I can get. Trainer at level 4-5 is optimal bang for buck and definitely the best route unless you are training a generational talent, in which case you may need to upgrade.

That's how I view things anyway. I think most of the others here would probably say similar things.

Youth trainer is definitely cheaper and more effective than a gym. The gym is really useful if you're trying to make a NT or U21 player but other than that it's a huge financial sinkhole for what is likely 1 pop per season (if it would be any more we'd see a lot more 160+ TSP players).

Thus I'd say if you're looking for cost effectiveness you want a lvl 5 or 6 trainer, lvl 5 or 6 Youth Trainer, no gym, and I'd say lvl 1 training Court since a lvl 1 is typically fine to get them up near the 20 mark by 26/27.

But yeah as far as available data on this, there isn't much. Most people collecting data have long left BB.

That's rough, I had a lot of foul trouble last season but I don't ever remember it getting quite that bad.

Right now I am just trying to survive when my Center seems to really love getting injured.

Annoying that I don’t make the knockout stage based on point differential when I never had an easy “buy” game. Especially when I was able to beat Mloty Stargard when healthy! Anywho, good luck in the knockout stage man, rooting for you!

I was actually watching your game over mine last night hoping you would clear the 38 points you need to get in. Sorry you didn't get it but a super impressive win for you over a long time BB legend. I've talked to a few guys about B3 recently and it's mostly draw based. I got lucky this season but I doubt I'm gonna make it too far. Thank you and I'll try and represent us well out there!

I was super happy to see the result against Mloty. Especially seeing my double wrong GDP and Graham fouling out. I think had I not guessed, and Graham didn't foul out I could have cleared the point differential I needed.

No doubt you'll rep us well. Let your guys get tired out for our eventual cup match :)
