South Africa Squeaks Out Win Over Senegal, Ends 4-Game Losing Streak Against Them
Our beloved South Africa U21 team had a 4-point loss to Senegal in the Season 56 Championship game. Then Season 58 rolled around and Senegal handed us three losses in one season... That losing streak is now over after a back and forth nail-biter against them, until we ultimately came out victorious, winning 95-93!
Despite their 38.8k salary big, it was South Africa who controlled the game inside. Bolstered by a 2-3 zone defense, South Africa put on a shot-blocking show, with Mukomana, Sibeko, and Makeba combining for 12 blocks! Cavann Sibeko
was rebounding like a mad-man and pulled down 18 boards as well.
On the offensive side of the ball, Lenshina proved that scoring isn't everything as he shot 0-9 from the field but he still recorded 10 assists, 7 rebounds, and played fantastic defense all night, limiting Senegal to just 32% shooting from beyond the arc. Lenshina finished a game-high +16 in 42 minutes. Ngwane and Sibeko handled the scoring, netting 32 points and 26 points respectfully.
Next up, we face off with Nigeria who is 1-1 and coming off of an impressive win over Al Maghrib. Let's keep the wins rolling in!
