Hello again everyone!

My staff and I are so excited to get Continentals started off in season 60! Looking at our competition this season, as we try to qualify for Worlds, we look like we are in the middle of the pack in terms of players salaries and team skill. I project this team to be a semi-finals team this season but it will be no easy feat. After a warm up win against Guatemala, we are first set up for a match against Ghana!

Our following games of the first round will, in order, be:

2/27 Senegal
3/6 Nigeria
3/13 Misr
3/20 Al Maghrib
3/27 Tounes
4/3 Al Jazair

Follow this thread for your weekly updates on the South Africa U21 National Team!

Glad to see you posting here. You may have helped one of our former French NT coaches.

South Africa starts off the season well, beating Ghana behind Ngwane's 21 points

One game down. One win! South Africa entered the first game as a favorite over Ghana and we did not disappoint. Up by as many as 23 points, we had four starters score double-digit points, led by Makhosetive Ngwane's 21 points on 10/19 shooting.

South Africa was also passing circles around the Ghanaian defenders, with all five starters recording 3+ assists and the team as a whole finishing with 26 assists. The 19-year old phenom, Bagindawo Lenshina did not shoot well in his first official tournament game, however Lenshina's 7 assists tied Stephen Buffery's mark for the most assists in an opening continentals game since season 52.

Ghana did shave some points off during garbage time but the win was never in question and South Africa wins the first game of the season 92-80. Next up we play our nemesis from two seasons ago, Senegal! They are coming off of a well-fought close win over Al Maghrib.

South Africa Squeaks Out Win Over Senegal, Ends 4-Game Losing Streak Against Them

Our beloved South Africa U21 team had a 4-point loss to Senegal in the Season 56 Championship game. Then Season 58 rolled around and Senegal handed us three losses in one season... That losing streak is now over after a back and forth nail-biter against them, until we ultimately came out victorious, winning 95-93!

Despite their 38.8k salary big, it was South Africa who controlled the game inside. Bolstered by a 2-3 zone defense, South Africa put on a shot-blocking show, with Mukomana, Sibeko, and Makeba combining for 12 blocks! Cavann Sibeko
was rebounding like a mad-man and pulled down 18 boards as well.

On the offensive side of the ball, Lenshina proved that scoring isn't everything as he shot 0-9 from the field but he still recorded 10 assists, 7 rebounds, and played fantastic defense all night, limiting Senegal to just 32% shooting from beyond the arc. Lenshina finished a game-high +16 in 42 minutes. Ngwane and Sibeko handled the scoring, netting 32 points and 26 points respectfully.

Next up, we face off with Nigeria who is 1-1 and coming off of an impressive win over Al Maghrib. Let's keep the wins rolling in!

Sibeko and van Schagen Help South Africa Obliterate Nigeria

Entering this game undefeated, we were looking to get to 3-0 on the season. Standing in our way was Nigeria, who was hungry for a win and willing to put in more effort. Luckily, our South Africans were too strong and the game ended being a 124-85 victory!

Nigeria missed a GDP guess and played 2-3 zone, allowing our Push the Ball offense to crush them both in the paint as well as from behind the arc. Cornelis van Schagen drained four three-pointers by himself and dropped 26 points. Meanwhile Cavann Sibeko had a dominant double-double with 27 points and 19 rebounds. He also added 5 blocks making him the clear MVP of the game.

Next up, we have perhaps the hardest game of the season as we square off with the one other undefeated team who is also 3-0, Misr! Let's give it our best shot!
