Please explain.

Poll:  Is it more advantageous for a team's success to distribute salaries evenly across the roster or to allocate a significant portion of the budget to one or two star players?

Even salaries
Top heavy roster

I have an even salaries type team, and from my experience, top heavy teams usually win.

They have to lose some league games on purpose if they want to succeed in the cup, but in the end, they seem to be more succesfull.

For success across an entire season, more balanced players and more depth is better, but once you get to playoff time or if you are just talking about a one off game scenario, having the top heavy build probably gives you a better shot at winning.

This is likely why the poll is fairly even in responses.

You dont think that having more serviceable backups or a better surrounding cast than your opponent is as effective in a one game situation? Maybe it's not as big an advantage as I'd like to believe in my own mind.

The benefit of depth and better players 4-8 are that you can more easily get your players into better game shape and keep them there.

In playoffs, you're often training GS before the must-win games and are playing your best players 38-42 minutes a game. Doing that in the regular season isn't as viable, so you can't be as top heavy. In a one game matchup, having better top 2-3 players is more important in my opinion.

In BBM/B3 games for example, many teams only play a 7-8 man rotation because those are their best players and minutes don't matter. Looking at the B3 final that happened today, both teams played 7 man rotations and half of the players played 40+ minutes. For league games and weekly minutes, it's not possible to play guys 80+ minutes every week and keep them in good GS, which is where having a more balance team and depth is beneficial.

I'll take starters of:

100k, 100k, 80k, 40k, 30k

Over

70k, 70k, 70k, 70k, 70k

for all major games.

Thanks Bubbles. Although I will point out that perhaps you have disproven this a bit already by winning your match against the 217k behemoth haha

Haha I think one mega star (217k) is a bit different than having two 108k players, but I can see your argument.

I was also at home and played with more effort and am quite worried about the next two games. I appreciate the kind words regardless.
