There's definitely some early season shuffle, I wouldn't put much weight on moves being made now involving anyone 33yo or older or $250k salary or higher. Sometimes you just need warm bodies while you figure other stuff out.
Looks like I had a pretty lucky come-from-behind win to open the season this time, hopefully a good sign that some things will be different!
