Round 6 of the TV game show (Match Prediction Contest) is in the books with the Cougars winning away from home 115 - 69. Our defense shown through with us holding the fast paced Steppers offense to 31% from the field. Also it didn't hurt that we nearly doubled their effort on the boards. Will this effect both teams needs to normal or crunch-time games in the later parts of the season?

Final Score: Coos Bay Cougars 115 @ Steppers McSteppingtons 69

As for next week....

Saturday 3/30/2024 8:00:00 PM 7th place Lake Charles Creoles @ 6th place SKILLZ THAT KILLZ

This is gonna be a real battle as no one wants to in 7th as they have to face a tough 5th place opponent while working against home-court advantage in a relegation series. Skillz appear to be the better team and it feels like they have more at stake, but we are waiting to see if Lake Charles are gonna put up a fight in the league, especailly with a big chance to catch up to 6th place.

This is the Creoles 5th season in USA division III.7. Meanwhile Skillz lost a unlucky relegation series back in season 62 and immediately stormed their way back up to D3 last season going undefeated. This will offically be the last TV game before out-of-conference play. Who is gonna secure a potentially important early season win?

Lake Charles brings a roster 28 deep to this game, for reasons unknown. But their talent is puddle deep making their salary less competitive than it looks at first glance. Fred Steed and Russell Madina are the Skillz that killz. There are others collecting a paycheck but Skillz may have less depth than Lake Charles.
I'll go with the home team on a sloppy track. Skillz by 18.

Well....full disclosure I messed up and did Crunch Time for my Cup game against a computer managed team. Not sure how I did that. I guess that's what I get for setting on my phone.

Urgent news bulletin!

In a wild press conference the manager gives away insider information a few short days before tip off. Is it a ploy or a blunder?

Vegas odds are going crazy with this shocking confession from team insiders...

Round 7 of the TV game show (Match Prediction Contest) is complete. Big sigh of relief from the Skillz fans when they heard after the game that star Russell Medina's injury was only temporary. The creoles got out to an early lead, but once the second half started it started swinging back. The Skillz were absolutely locked in only giving up 3 turnovers all game. Meanwhile holding the Creoles to 38% from the floor and stifling the comeback by holding them to 27% from 3pt range. Meanwhile the Creoles struggled defensively as their lockdown outside defense was useless against the persistant inside game of the Skillz. Can Skillz take this win and stay up in the playoffs and clear of relegation from here on out? Or will this loss drive the Creoles to take no prisioners against their upcoming out-of-conference foes?

As for next week....

Tuesday 4/2/2024 8:00:00 PM 1st place Rashmonsters @ 5th Place Dark Matter

No one suffer as bad this week as the Dark Matter fell from 2nd to 5th in the Big 8. These are two big-time competitiors in this league. I even thought this fixture might be an early version of what one might see in the finals. Both teams are veterans in this league for at least 6 seasons and know what each other are capable of?

The rivalry since Seaosn 58 stands Rashmonster 5 wins and Dark Matter 1 win.
Rashmonster have been a playoff team 6 of the last 8 seasons. Where as Dark Matter have not missed a playoff appearance in 4 seasons. With playoff spaces still such a tight race in both conferences who needs this win more?

Two backup players are on sale for the Dark Matter will those play any role?
