Overall I gotta go Big 8. If Alaska Alphas are sitting in 4th I know it's a strong division.

Both conferences are kicking my butt this season, so I'm gonna say they're both murderous. I was doing so well last the last couple of seasons, but I apparently forgot how to manage a team.

Don't ask what sort of Chunks they are, you probably don't want to know. Blowing Chunks since Season 4!

We had a tough run recently. Overcame TIE vs Normal in each of my first 3 games, then my 3rd big got hurt and I think that cost me at least one or two of the next 3. There's some really good teams on this side!

I think the Big 8 is looking stronger. I think they have 5 of the top 6 or 7 teams, with only Finisher23 and maybe NY Nugs at that level. There is a lot of uncertainty though before inter-conference games start, will be watching tonight's slate closely to see how it shakes out

Well I know it's tough in the Big 8 when I have a big payroll, a +11 PD, and a pitiful 2-6 record...

Listen up, y'all. I've been in this league for a while now and this is the first time that I've noticed our League Net Average Income is in the red. Right now it's showing -$9,644. That means the average team here is running a deficit. Y'ALL NEED TO CHILL OUT!!! Just sell your two highest paid players, every one of you, that will do the trick. I haven't seen an arms race here like this since I got here. Deep breathe, y'all, you don't need more than one player with a six-figure salary, but it's making it really hard for anyone to be competitive and break even. We're supposed to be filling our coffers up here in D.II. My team has pretty much the same exact roster as last season, which was good enough for 2nd place then, and is now not even looking like I will have a decent chance at sneaking into playoffs.

Oh, and while I'm at it, please make sure to play your bench players against my team. It's that not I'm asking for charity here, but, well, can ya help an fellow out? Please?

No way, that's pretty cool.

Also chihorn we really need to see the median league net income, because I'm guessing some crazy outliers may be at play here.

Well, it's definitely not my fault. I'm making 30K a week. Maybe that's why I'm sitting at 7th place on my side, though >.>

I’m definitely part of the problem. For what it’s worth, it’s because my trainees have hit their peak and I don’t want to sell them yet, more than anything else. I had to promote or rebuild at the end of last season. I failed to promote and have been unwilling to rebuild.

You aren't even the worst offender. I used the data on buzzer-manager for total salaries and avg gate receipt and then assumed every team has the league average for merch/staff etc... That's not accurate given higher salary teams or HG teams will have more merch but gives us an even comparison between teams

The 3 biggest overspenders are Rhinos (-250K / week), Finisher23 (-160K / week) and BU Terriers (-70K / week). I'd guess their true net income is $25-75K better than those estimates given their merch will be higher than the average team. Finisher may even be somewhat close to breakeven given their team is all USA and their highest salary player is homegrown.

These estimates have 8/16 teams with negative weekly net income and the best of the 8 is at -$18K / week. Crazy how competitive this season is!

The profitable teams are very right skewed, with only 4 teams who are making over $15K / week: Monkeykid (41K), Mill City Thunder (120K), Rip City (150K) and Rochester Rampage (150K)

I am curious to see if some teams will sell off during the season or if everyone will hold off through the playoffs and reassess next offseason.
