I know we don’t communicate much in this league, but I just wanted to wish you all a happy new year, and to say farewell. It has been a pleasure to play in this league alongise you guys.
The reality is that, after trying for 6 seasons (which is 1.5 years in real life!), I have come to terms with the fact that this is the hardest bottleneck I have ever faced. Our conference is just impossible to compete in. Either you get into massive debt, or you just try your best for a chance at play-offs, if you manage to do so. Meanwhile, the second qualified in the other side would barely fight to avoid demotion here. And next season it will be the same once again, where 7/8 teams fighting to one chance at promotion will be in the same conference. Rinse and repeat.
I am milenial. I never expect instant gratification from games. When I was a teenager, those freemium models were (gladly) not a thing. You had to work your ass and commit time to get your rewards. And I enjoyed that. Originally BB was like that to me. No advantage of being a supporter, and rewarding the long run. But heck, almost 2 years without any realistic chance at progress is demoralising.
And this is my secone run here. I had a team in Spain from 2011 to 2016. And there were roughly 5K teams back then. Promoting to League IV was an achievement in itself! But an achievement I could realistically dream about. I can easily see my team here in 5 years time. No promotion.
So… I decided to demote. All team on sale. Feel free to send a BB Mail if you wanted me to lower prices on any players. They are not great, but they have served me well. And I have a special love for my trainees.
