We are back, for yet another season. At this point, it feels like i know a couple of teams better than my neighbours (HR, my archrival, i'm looking at you since we are rivals for the 4th season in a row!)

That being said, it's time to say some hello's and goodbyes:

First off: Goodbye and best of luck to the following teams. Even though you are no longer in II.2, we wish you nothing but the best

1) TumasSStars
2) Sabers Teeth
3) Yolymapa
4) Topeka Bouncebacks
5) Spartens
6) BC VDP Sport

And then, let me welcome in to the II.2 family:
1) BC Tienen
2) Apollon Waterloo
3) Knights Albuquierque (Welcome back for the 3rd time :D )
4) Silver City Fighters
5) Ghent Swishwiches
6) Team Vicious

To all the teams mentioned above, i wish you nothing but the best! To those who have left us, please come back soon (although i'd rather not see TumasStars back too soon). To all those who arrived, a big welcome! Looking forward to facing you

Since life as a teacher is very bussy around this period, i'll be making my predictions a bitt later. But i feel as tho it's time for Pongo to flex his muscles and to stop being a gatekeeper for all the teams. On the other side, Amenra is in desperate need of promotion or might be forced to blow up his team. This season is once again going to be an interesting one!

Good luck everyone!

Thanks for the welcome, however, I feel that I will quickly get my ass handed to me. Joining a strong conference (and league), hopefully not with a 0-22 score...

So it's that time of the season ago: Here we go again. I missed out on it last season.

So here is the preview for the Big 8 conference. The Great 8 conference will follow at a later moment.

so here we go!

Big 8

1) Pongo Squad
Salary: $ 556 413
Reason: For seasons, Pongo has been gatekeeping any squad in the big 8 from staying. Any team below him was doomed for relegation, any team from the great 8 conference facing him in the PD's was equally doomed. This all while he was maximising his income and training time on his 2 top players (Ebbers and Vanparys). However, at a certain point, you got to make the leap because the salary increase will be too large. 550k to 600k is the max salary you can carry while being break even. That gives Pongo a 2 window timeframe (first window without losing too much money, the second one he will be losing money) where he can promote. Considering that the other teams haven't gotten stronger in his division and that his trainees are taking a combined 300k of his salary, the time is now to see him take his rightfull place and claim that #1 spot in his conference. (insert lion king music here). If he plays it well, he should be having HCA through out the PO's. considering the strength of the blue conference compared with the red conference.

2) Insane Hangtime
Salary: $ 500 075
Reason: Aaeeoo2 has constructed a very strong squad. The only thing that is kinda missing is that clear 2 to 3 trainees that would be improving to take his team to potentially a BBBL birth. However, with his current squad, he should be a menace once more for his division and conisdering there aren't any clear teams to challenge that second spot, it should come as to no surprise that he should be within the PO spots (provided he doesn't forget to submit his line up. Looks like HR has infected IH with the "forget the line up" dissease.

3) Beerschot AC
Salary: $ 381 883
Reason: Beerschot finally got rid of Filip Klichowski, a player that was draining his finances. Considering that Filip wasn't really trained, it feels like Beerschot have been dragging the salary around for a while, thus not making money. If that bought time for other players that he was training, then it's worth it. If not, then he just wasted a chunk of his economy for no real gain. Only time will tell, but he's build a salary efficient team and with other teams needing to retool, expect him to be raking it in, adding over 2M cash to his balance this season and still make the PO's. He's currently in the dream spot regarding teams around him.

4) Amicale Liers Basket 0706
Salary: $ 392 189
Reason: Lierse is a bitt of a weird team to predict. In all honesty, they just sold their best player, which comes as a surprise. They didn't have to from a salary point, which kind of tells me they either want to reinvest to work with the other 2 trainees he's still got, or he's looking to get new trainees in and try to do a Pongo and become a gatekeeper, while builing up his economical side. Either way, considering the strength of the division, they should be fighting for a PO spot and i think they barely get in over Tienen.

5) Basketcats Poperinge
Salary: $ 453 862
Reason: The cats are in urgent need of retooling, but considering the strength of the blue conference, this should be the time to do so. He has already invested in a very salary efficient player B Dieng, but you should expect him to be changing out his team and making it younger. With a promissing big man being trained up, one can expect that he'll be looking for some replacements at the guard positions.

6) BC Tienen
Salary: $ 429 673
Reason: Tienen demoted from the BBBL, so normally you'd expect them to be fighting for promotion. However, considering the age on his best players (he's got 350k in 3 players aged 32, 33 and 34) just after having sold a Belgian NT player, it's pretty clear that Roel_V needs to retool his entire team. He'll be looking to make money and hope to avoid the drop while squeezing whatever value is left out of his top players, hoping they can bridge the gap for a season or 2 till he'll have to reinvest to stay in II or go down and continue the training of his trainees in III. Either way, he's going to have to navigate some hard games with his current squad if he doesn't get more players in. 3 good players, with no back up (for foul trouble or god forbid, the injury bug that has been going around in II.2 last season) could spell disaster for his team. Tactically, Roel_V is a very smart coach. But he's taking a gamble here and we'll see if it pays off in the long run.

7) Knight Albuquerque
Salary: $ 357 141
Reason: After a visit in II.4, KA is back once again, making his 3rd appearance since season 65. His previous appearances weren't very succesfull, but this squad is looking good and on paper, he should be able to hold his own. Where i'm getting concerned is that he has little depth, so if the injury bug hits, then he's going to be in for a rough season. That being said, if KA ends up 5th because of injuries derailing the other teams, then i wouldn't be surprised either. He's got a chance to do something this time, let's see if he can climb up the ladder

Silver City Fighters
Salary: $ 115 395
Reason: unfortunately, this team is going to be dead last. The salary is way too low, they'll get overrun by opposition each time they face them. I always feel sorry for when a team promotes because they did decent in III but aren't ready in the slightest. SCF only exists for not even 2 full seasons and they find themselves in II. The best thing they can do is try to find the games where they got a chance, drop a CT in those games so that they can avoid the stadium boycot that their fans will nearly certainly start off with. Ideally, they get 3 wins some how, avoid the boycot and all the cash they get, it goes into their stadium. With a stadium capacity of 8,5k, they will be struggling and missing out on a ton of income. Part of me is wondering if they might not be exempt from a stadium boycot, but i think that protection last 1 or 2 full seasons, so they'll lose it somewhere during this season. Never the less, To Dare is to DO, so i'm wishing them all the best

As always, these are my views, based on how i know the teams, read in between the lines AND take the financial part into account. IF you disagree, feel free to point out where and to prove me wrong ;) i'm just doing this for some fun and to reflect on how i did at the end of the season.

The red side predictions will follow later on

Right, got some time so here we go

Great 8

1) Amenra
Salary: $ 801 719 ($ 631 717 if their player gets sold)
Reason: Amenra has been training some talents for a while. During the last season, you could notice that his team seemed to have taken the next step. Nagelmakers (150k) De Maeseneer (126k) and Leys (111k) have all started earning a salary that is no longer sustainable for long in II. you can go break even with excellent merchandise for 550k, 600k salary max. Amenra will be turning a loss this season. The question is, by how much. That also brings the pressure of having to go up. And if he keeps training all 3 players in solo positions, then 65daysofstatic will be keeping a 111k player just to play the cup games and get very few minutes in the competitions, which will put a strain on his team. Add to it that the great 8 conference clearly has better teams, it means that Amenra might not have HCA for the finals (Pongo should be able to lock that up). To sums things up simply: This season is promotion or having to sell a trainee (which always hurts and you never get the value for them that you invested in them). So right now, it's Do or Die for 65daysofstatic. And the fact that this also is true for Pongo, means that 2 teams are on a collision course! time to get the popcorn and watch it all unfold.

2) High Roller
Salary: $ 448 875
Reason: Vuil Franske is at it again. He was very unlucky in the last PO run with 2 injuries and is probably the only person who can throw a wrench into Amenra & Pongo's plan. More likely than not, he'll end up being a kingmaker. Whoever drops a game against Vuil Franske's team, will likely lose out on the HCA through out the PO's. The fact that they are in Great 8 side, is a disadvantage for Amenra and HR alike. That being said, HR isn't on a timer like Amenra is. His trainees can still take a raise in salary without him having to promote this season, so HR will be more of an opportunist. That being said, i know for a fact that he's got 6 to 10 mil in the bank, so if he wants, he can just outright force a promotion at the end of the season.

3) Kv Forever
Salary: $ 501 770
Reason: Polle has build another team with 3 heavy hitters, but after that it falls off. He's going to have to balance playing for competition while focussing on some young players to train. This leaves holes in your line up, something which some teams should be able to abuse. It's kind of a toss up. Like HR, Polle's team will likely be a king maker when it comes to games. A team to be weary off. He should nestle into the top 4 in the Great 8 without any issue for the forseeable future.

4) Thomas Cook
Salary: $ 383 226
Reason: Some how, some way, TCA has been able to rebuild his team once again. He had 3 players 34+ last season. Now it's been rejuvanated. The same issues remain with Thomas Cook team tho: His stadium isn't build properly, meaning they are missing a ton of income. TC officially has the SMALLEST stadium in II.2, even smaller than Silver City Fighters! However, he's been able to rebuild his team yet again. His ceiling is getting into the PO's as a 4th seed at best. However, he keeps doing it again and again. Imagen if he'd actually invest in his stadium and bring in the big money, he could build one of the scariest teams and maybe even challenge idea's at the level of JoeMavericks understanding. However, for now, i reckon he'll settle with 4th. A couple of injuries could push his team towards the relegation, but for now, this is nothing short but impressive.

5) Duck Dynasty
Salary: $ 386 882
Reason: The ducks have hit a wall. Right now, their core players are aging out. If Mahesvara wants to earn anything off them, now is the time to sell. However, selling bring the risk in going down to III and while it would require desperate measures, it would mean that some players would have to be moved on. The issue is that with the next trainees, it's hard to see how one gets significantly better and can aim for the next step, being a potential BBBL push. The Ducks have prided on always being a very salary efficient team however recent efforts with the sale of B Dieng (who has gone to the cats) has shown that the market isn't exactly looking forward towards salary efficient players. This creates an issue where no value can be generated by the teams training program, thus throwing a wrench into the plans. For now, the aim is 5th and staying in II.2 while they'll be trying to use this season to figure out how to make the next step.

6) Team Vicious
Salary: $ 448 143
Reason: It has been a while since we've seen a team that was able to stay up in II.2 for multiple seasons. However, TV is build correctly to potentially challenge the established order and to get some wins in. Hence, putting them 6th might be low balling them. However, the Ducks & TC have been the gatekeepers from getting into the PO's on the Great 8 conference, so getting passed them should be step number one. They have the team to do it on paper, now the question is does the manager have the tactical knowledge to push forward and make that charge towards PO contention? Only time will tell

7) Apollon Waterloo
Salary: $ 270 750
Reason: Despite looking like a promissing side, the fact remains that their salary is under the players minimum floor. That means that they won't be getting maximum power out of their team. Add to the fact that Appolon Waterloo has a smaller stadium and needs urgent stadium expansions and it feels like they'll be going back down to III fairly fast. The good news is that with a couple of other teams being weaker, they could steal away some games to avoid the punitive fan boycots last time they were in II (they were in II.4 during season 70 where they went 2-20. They might want to add another youngster to guarantee training minutes for said player so that they get a chance at coming back to II in season 74 with a strong and young roster.

8) Ghent Swishwiches
Salary: $ 261 755
Reason: They are carrying players that are dead weight. Some of who will never see a minute on the team, yet still are undre the player salary floor. They certainly have the better stadium compared to the other promoting teams, but it's unclear who their trainees are and if they are getting the minutes they need. They might be able to beat AW, but i feel like their players are still missing something. 1 or 2 extra players could completely transform their fortunes, but the question is, do they have the economical reserves to invest and make sure that those investments pay off. II.2 is unforgiving, yet they are an intruiging team to face and play against.

And with that, all the predictions are done. If you disagree, feel free to type out a response. The more communication we have, the more interesting and fun the season will be! May the best teams win & above all, i hope everyone will enjoy the season as much as i tend to do.

Great Analysis and a great forum/league established in this league.

I have nothing more to say, I will get g4ngbanged in this season, If I win more than 2-3 games is because some random tactical genius happened. Unfortunately last year due to budget problems I was not able to improve the stadium, something Ia am going to do in this season, the plan is one day to be able to compete to remain in level II but let's see.

Good luck to everyone!
