Kids Give Gunners Another Stab at Glory

After a first season visit to a Div III final that ended with a thud, The Gunners took a different track in trying to win the league and promote to Div II.
Veteran leadership was the guiding force last season but it was a younger group that led the team to another shot at a title.
“Us older guys went as far as we could” said long time star Michael Braier, “but we needed new blood”.
The improved play of 21 year old point guard Konrad Welzenbach of Germany led management on a kiddie corp kick.
First arriving was 22 year old power forward Raul Barra of Portugal, next was long bomber Wong Ling Nam of Taiwan.
Then at the trade deadline...The final piece.
It was hoped that a 22 year old would push the team over the top.
Knowing full well that the Dream Shakers Beñat Briceño would be a handful, the Gunners reached out for Virgo Paju hoping he could put the clamps on the League's MVP.
That remains to be seen !
