With four games remaining the Stampeding Elephants have moved back into the fourth and final playoff spot in the Big 8. It took all the effort that the Elephants could muster in their recent road game against the Iron Giants, but they came away with a hard fought and necessary victory. Having gone through turbulent times since General Manager Matt Wood took over the reins, the Elephants are simply looking to make the playoffs this time around. The patient and quiet general manager had this to say about his teams triumphs and travails since taking the helm.
"George Washington once said, 'I hope I shall possess firmness and virtue enough to maintain what I consider the most enviable of all titles, the character of an honest man.' That's what I expect of this team."
In other news, Elephant small forward Gleb Galaburda
(24730266) was arrested on Saturday after a police investigation showed him to be playing a part in a local prostitution ring. The Elephant front office refused to comment on the matter until they are provided with more details. The high-scoring but personal foul-prone Galaburda was brought in earlier in the year despite the questionable character traits that he showed in Europe.
