New Season brings New Hope

The Kurgans finished as the numbers 2 overall seed in the league last season but failed to make it to the championship game for the second straight season. They have brought in 3 rookies who look to give the team some youthful exuberance even though they will not get significant playing time early. The Kurgans added more depth to their frontcourt in the offseason which would hopefully allow for the transition of replacing Ivan Lender. The team sold his rights while they still had value, though this means for the first time in 6 seasons a new starting SG will grace the Kurgans lineup. This is going to be a very experimental season as last season’s MVP, Herbert, makes the move from SF to SG and the runner up, Morais, moves from PF to SF. These moves give the Kurgans more size, and skill but it means having successful players at unfamiliar positions. The owners are hopeful that this will be the enough to get the Kurgans over the championship hump. But they are aware that a last season acquisition may be necessary.
