Gunners - Back From The Brink

It's hard to believe it was just 10 days ago.
A beatdown at rival Lawrence Park seemed like an early season full stop.
There was no money left after a week with no home games.
Top big man Kostas Aerakis had already been released a week earlier to save cash
Losing by 44 at the Chickaboos followed by the 22 point drubbing at LPP did not endear itself to the home fans.
Now at 1-4 and the season looking to be lost, and with relegation a real possibility, one of the most important 3 game home stands began.
As expected, just 12,455 showed up at Manush Field House for game one. The win pushed Saturday's attendance to 14335.
More importantly, the Gunners had a hew thousand dollars and 24 hours to find another big man.
Sometimes lady luck just drops some magic dust on your situation.
Tõnis Õun became available and fell into the tiny transfer window.
He also fell somehow to an affordable price.
With the new man in town suddenly there was hope, but first an exhausted Porto group came to town.
Ripe for the pickings.
They'd extended themselves recently and it was thought they might not bring all of their top talent for the game.
They had a Cup game that would require some top player minutes, but they still ran out their best.
So even more impressive for HTG with a resounding victory and a season high crowd of 16,599.
From the ashes, the Gunners now see a path to at least temporary stability.
