I have spent my recent seasons in the Turkey U-21 National Team. During my duty as assistant coach between Seasons 62-66, I had the chance to win a Consolation Cup championship and reach the European Championship semi-finals with Tayanç. In the following 6-season period as head coach, I maintained a balanced performance (I see it as neutral, not successful or a failure) with its ups and downs in a tough environment.
I announced that I'll leave the Turkey U-21 at the beginning of this season because I believe that fresh blood and different visions can push it further or if nothing else, it may fix the recent stagnation and bring back the hype.
Considering Poland's dominance in the recent past, I am aware of how surprising the results of the last two seasons have been for your community. I observe that this is not due to bad decisions or about the knowledge but the lack of interest to the team. I don't want to offend the current coach or any one else, I have a few seasons that I messed up as well.
Although Poland has a player pool approximately twice the size of Turkey's, it wouldn't be a workload for me but a wide range of players if we consider I always chose between pool of 20-22 players before. As a coach who managed almost the entire operation in Turkey alone, I have no doubt that we will achieve much more effective results by managing this vast potential of Poland with a staff of 3 including me.
